OMG How could I forget? Crewsmas is the Walmart Saturday Showdown! Win it for the Waltons, lads! Also, three bonus Grouchy™ Points to anyone who can get Andrew Wiebe on film saying, "Bring back Sheep League, @cleazer!"
I've been running sheep league on another forum via Cleazer's spreadsheets for a few years now. I am working on updating them via Googlesheets so that answers are automatically calculated instead of requiring manual input. If I can make it work, maybe he would come back since it would be 1/10th the time requirement.
Fox28 is declaring Saturday an alert day in regards to the weather. It looks like there's gonna be some storms in the early afternoon, but it doesn't look real bad after about 3:30 or so. Based off their radar map, it seems there'll be two hours of storms at the most. If you'll be at the tailgate early, you might want to be ready to run towards the garage or get under the nearest tent.
Our midfield didn't improve much in week 2 as much as I would have liked. Our defense is still shaky and not very good at repressing/transition defense. Chicago is the best team we've faced so far and absolutely played Montreal off the field. My preseason optimism is waning. Though I do like much of the attacking play that I've seen. The team is getting a little better at it, more confident in playing the more through the lines and decisive in the final third. Scoring a lot will certainly give us more time to get the defensive structure and team movement ironed out. I am excited to see the attack unleashed tomorrow after the fellas all sleep soundly in their own beds tonight dreaming of Crewsmas! We win 4-3 or lose 1-3. I voted lose by 1 in the poll. I have no idea what tomorrow will bring, but I'm pretty excited to see this new iteration of our team in person. Let's Go CREW!!! \
I'm not as positive as the rest of the group. Until I see the defense/midfield work out, I cant call a win. We have played the bottom of the league and didn't look good. Chicago has a good offense and now have Bamba back in the lineup... I go 4-2 Crew loss.
I, too, can't get very optimistci about this match. That said, we have been home a full week to prepare, and had to play weeks 1 and 2 on the road, which equates to lost training. We'll have that situation again next week leading up to the Nashville game. It's then away to Toronto followed by a two-week int'l break for any players not on national team duty. With Gomes and Akhundzada arriving somewhere in that window. I don't know yet how well Rydström's system will translate to MLS. But I do believe that the more time he has in training with this roster, the better chance he'll have of getting his system to work here.
Less than 300 non resale tickets for the game. They probably priced the stadium just right for getting the most amount of profit. Could be just the home opener and good weather. But not as doom and gloom as some people predicted and perhaps hoped.
The tiny fortress is going to have to do a lot of heavy lifting tomorrow to have a shot at winning. The whole crowd are going to need to yell their heads off. Not overly optimistic though.
My friend in Crew ... you are pushing a strawman narrative. It is not a success story for a downtown stadium in its 6th season to not be sold out a day before the home opener. It is a forewarning. The apathy of 2025, greed with gameday attendance and moving a game to Cleveland eroded the goodwill of trophies in 2023 and 2024. BTW .. my friend screenshot discounted ticket offers for the first two home games offered through the OhioHealth intranet to all associates. I don't know anywhere here happy about the fall off. It's ridiculous ... from the glow of what they had. The Haslams, Edwards and Crew front office own creating it. If they can't course correct this season ... the renewal drop off will send another forewarning.
This is a team designed to be the crew's worst enemy with a physical striker and good wing play. They can move the ball from left to right. Our defense can do what exactly? Hoping we had some well drilled practices
In your Shitcago slums, In your Shitcago slums, You look in the dumpster for something to eat, You find a dead rat and think it's a treat, In your Shitcago slums, In your Shitcago slums, You bathe in the toilet and shit in the bath, You finger your grandma and think it's a laugh! In your Shitcago slums! Merry fuqqin Crewsmas!
Greetings and Salutations! It's been a while, but I'm making it down for Crewsmas! Driving down with my girlfriend and picking up my son at Ohio State on the way. Glory to Columbus!
Didn't realize that in addition to the Arnold, CBJ are home at 7. And Paul Blart is doing a comedy show.
