If you were gonna interview Jari Litmanen tomorrow, what would you ask him? (I am, and I'm stumped as to what to ask.) Answers by 8am CET, please... bedankt!
Ask him if he understands how greatly he is appreciated and admired by many, many Ajax fans, regardless of injury or not. Jari coming back was fantastic, even though we have seen so little of him. Jari playing always puts a smile on the face of many people. Ask him if he really, really enjoyed coming back and being welcomed back or if he was more sad about failing at Liverpool... eventhough his qualities had nothing to do with that. Tell him we love him. This guy is one of very few true heroes I have/had. No big ego, great qualities, great character. One of Ajax' greatest players/personalities ever. Sadly, probably the most underrated player of the 90's.
He's my hero, too, which makes it all the more difficult to shake a decent interview out of him. Your questions come from the heart, but they're basically yes or no questions, which lead to yes or no answers. I'll think about how to turn them into open-ended questions that require a more explanatory response. I thought about asking him about how his time at Liverpool might have changed his perception of that club, and also how returning to Ajax for a second go-round might have changed his perception of this club. Generally, how experience has changed idealistic notions of both clubs...
