I was listening to this black educator above the importance of temporary alliances in order to move things forward and how you know it could get you closer to the golden sometimes these alliances aren't the worst thing in the world. Look at these tweets Once again, Republicans in the Tennessee legislature vote to silence one their colleagues, because they don't agree with him https://t.co/CkhL92wPKu— Anne Applebaum (@anneapplebaum) August 29, 2023 COVENANT MOM: “I’m sick of it! Listen to me! I’m a pleading mother! I don’t want anyone to feel what this feels like.” The Covenant families left in tears after #KremlinCameron & the @tnhousegop ended #TNSpecialSession in anti-democratic chaos with very little accomplished. pic.twitter.com/q4Yw0UlTw9— The Tennessee Holler (@TheTNHoller) August 29, 2023
The white woman of the Tennessee Three is running for US Senate. Prediction: She’ll raise McGrath/Harrison levels of money and lose by McGrath/Harrison margins.
They back at it again. The state Senate approved a bill to give teachers concealed weapons. Against the wishes of teachers, schools and police. https://www.chalkbeat.org/tennessee...to-arm-tennessee-teachers-with-guns-covenant/
There was a bill last week making first-cousin marriage illegal... but it did not pass without a fight https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/poli...ennessee-moves-to-ban-them-anyway/ar-BB1lu1jK One GOP member objected and said it would violate the Supreme Court case -- Obergefell v Hodges. That GOP member's grandparents were first cousins BTW. Bold strategy Cotton.
Remember before Obergefell when they kept talking about upholding "biblical marriage"? First-cousin marriage was the preferred choice (still is among many in that part of the world), but then Abraham married his half sister. Funny they don't advocate for that type of biblical marriage!
At this point, I think he used Oberfell because he didn't understand it or he was trolling. Or both as the case can sometimes be.
