Help Me Please !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hello I am a french player of 18 years living in Marseille, and I want to play soccer in USA. I have a good level, I played in "the girondins de BORDEAUX" and "the olympique de MARSEILLE" and I have many contacts in France. I give you a cv with the mail if it interest you. I am very motived, because soccer is what I love and live in USA is my dream. So I want to know if you can help me please, because I don't know what to do. If some one want to find me a team, I will give him many money. Thank you
Hello, there are many options available to you. Since you are 18, I would suggest that you try a PDL (Professional Developmental League) team, which would be several levels below MLS (Major League Soccer). The league is primarily composed of University-Age players looking to get extra experience in the offseason, and to prepare for Major League Soccer, and the A-League (a professional career) If you want more info on some of the PDL teams, one near my area (The Sioux Falls Spitfire) is always looking for new talent, and I could give you the contact numbers of coaches so you could get in touch with them. Here is their website: www.sfspitfire.com Let me know if I can help you out. rspecht@usd.edu Adieu, Rob Specht
Help Me Please !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I suggest staying in Europe for another 20 years, making a big career and then moving to the states.
I know it wasn't intentional but the title of this thread is hilarious. I think there's some tryout information on the USL website. Check the PDL section ... http://www.uslsoccer.com
I couldn't wait to click on this when I saw the headline. I put up a poster of Blair and Bush with the flags either side and...I won't say anymore. Good luck son. Hope it works out for you.
Another thought ... Check out the board below. It specializes in lower division US soccer. http://www.usldiscussions.com/ You might ask this question there too.
garygold - i've heard other people try to get tryouts with teams by contacting individual teams. you can go to mlsnet.com. you'll find there links to individual teams throughout the league, and email links to contact them. then you can communicate directly with teams to see if you can get yourself a tryout. good luck.
based on the websites to those two teams he has already outgrown PDL. I would thing A-league at least
Dude, I can find you a team, it's not going to be MLS, but a team in my wife's church will gladly wellcome you and your big wallet. Most of the guys there are illegal aliens anyway, but hey! you'll be living your dream.
I typed up a long post but then my browser crashed. So this will be shorter. Start with the MLS office. http://mlsnet.com/contact.html Select Player tryouts and recruiting in the attention tab. Check out the dallas burn website. It has a lot of information about trying out. http://www.dallasburn.com/ Click "Offices" and Team Tryouts. Head over to the New England Revolution website. http://www.revolutionsoccer.net/contact_info/index.asp Scroll down a bit and there is information. I shall quote them. To prospective players and those requesting try-out information: Thank you for your interest. Please be aware that the members of our team have played for the full, Olympic or Under-20 level national team of their native countries, or have experience in the premier division of another country. If you have this level of playing experience or its equivalent, email Renato Capobianco at renatoc@revolutionsoccer.net. You can also send video tapes to: New England Revolution Scouting Department Gillette Stadium One Patriot Place Foxboro, MA 02035 We will contact you if we have any further interest. We encourage you to attend a game this season so you can see first-hand our level of play. Try the San Jose Earthquakes. They offer the following info: I'm a good soccer player. How can I try out for the team? The Earthquakes do not host open try-outs. Any interested players should send their player resume and contact information to: Chad Elert San Jose Earthquakes 3550 Stevens Creek Blvd., Ste. 200 San Jose, CA 95117 You can also write letters to all of the teams. Look for their addresses on their websites, which you can find at mlsnet.com
my intramural team needs someone speedy who can attack up the left flank for us and still play good D... the salary is non-existant but the post-game beers are only the best.
do you think garygold and livefreeordie are the same persons sock puppet? or do they belong to different trolls?
While personally being a fan of "many money" I think you're barking up the wrong baguette here, Pierre. Do teams in France normally sign up players based on their CV? Or are you really expecting some American soccer executive to say "Wow, great post on BigSoccer, man. Come play for us"? If you want to get a job playing in America, you do it the same way as you do it anyplace else. Hire an agent, have him contact teams and see if he can get you a tryout. Alternatively, you could come here and beg tryouts with DIII teams or get a real job and then play PDL in the summer someplace. Better yet, go to college in the US, get an actual education and play soccer at the saem time. If you're good enough, somebody will notice. If you're not, then you've got an education. But if you're just sitting there waiting for someone to say "WOW!!! An ACTUAL FRENCH GUY!!!!! Who wants to play HERE!!!!!! SACRE BLEU!!!!!! Here's a truckload of MANY MONEY!!!!!!" Forget it.
gary, i may be wrong, but the best thing for you to do in my opinion is to get a student visa here. find a good school with a good soccer program, and try out for their soccer team. if you're good and have lots of experience, you should blow by the collegiate system and get noticed by our league over here in the US after a year or two. we have plenty of internationals playing in the US, who began their careers in our universities. no french though! sadly, our only french prospect will likely be returning to your country with his tail between his legs! i had much respect for Grimandi until now. and please don't worry about the racism here. much of that is overhyped by the media, that is to say there is a mass of people in the US who love the French people and are against the war. (not that both are automatically equated.)
Gary - Stop posting this all over BigSoccer please. I took the time to combine all your answers in one thread and removed some of the less kind ones.
