Colombia can only host with another country. We don't have enough big cities and it will be a waste of money. The stadiums that are built will go to waste.

We have Bogota, Medillen, Cali and Barranquilla. All the hotels we would have to build. What would happen to them?

K maybe Cucuta and Manizales(all my white friends that go there fall in love with it). But wtf happens with all the hotels that are built there?

What other cities? You going to build a 50k+ stadium in Periera?

Unless you are planning to make it a shopping mall after its going to be tough.

Colombia needs it for the infustructor updates but I don't think financially or logistically it can host a Senior Nt.

Would love to have it there tho so people stop being scared of it. My parents are going NY to Cartagena this week for 300 bucks!!!!! That's a awesome deal and the hotels there are great. Can easily replace Mexico as a destination for people to go.

Tho for other countries that can host with us? Venezuela is Bankrupt and Ecuador or Peru don't have the team for it. Colombia/Argentina is too long of a flight to do but is really the only other option in SA. Unless we do Colombia/Mexico 2026.

If it helps Colombia improve their roads and highways I'm all for it. If not it's pointless.

Bucaramanga, pasto , Ibague , and Armenia are good cities to have games . There is already a good amount of hotels in all the major cities . Idk no offense to anyone but cucuta is not a very nice place to be in imo . If Colombia fix their roads That will be great lol . The amount of potholes in the roads is crazy .

Bucaramanga is one of the cleanest cities In Colombia in my opinion.

Yea but WCs and Olympics are shitty investment for poor countries.

Them building everything they need for the WC and then what. What happens to all that stuff? Just don't think there is enough places in Colombia to
    Host one.

Unless they do something like we build a nice ass stadium then all the shit 2nd division teams that get promoted come play there so we don't have 6 teams in Cali, Barranquilla, bogota and Medillen

If a stadium is built in Cartagena who will play there once the WC finishes? Look at the stadiums in Greece from the euro cup. Cartagena is interesting option but think it should just support the visitors going to Barranquilla

So what would the realistic host cities be? Don't we need 8?
    1. Bogota
    2. Barranquilla
    3. Cali
    4. Medillen
    5. Periera - big enough for a host city?
    6. Manizales....
    7.
    8.

For the u20 WC we used Cartagena and Armenia..... Both stadiums barely 20k.....

Would we get new stadiums For every city?

I mean would be great for the 5-6 major cities that host it but the other ones we pick are just going to be a huge waste of money.

Spain hosted a World Cup in 1982 and the Olympics in 1990. Population wise Colombia compares favorably with Spain.

Colombia would have to improve the roads in the cities and the main highways if it wanted a shot at hosting the World Cup.
Of course add extra police and military presence in host cities and throughout the country.

Renovate the stadiums, have them on par with Italy and Spain's.
Redo the bathrooms in these venues. Stadium bathrooms are gross, even more so in developing countries.

My top host cities would be
    1. Bogota- renovate El Campin a bit, add more seats
    2. Cartagena- For population and cultural reasons it has to be here. Would only make stadium with a capacity of 30 k.
    3. Medillin
    4. Cali
    5. Barranquilla
    6. Pereira- lovely stadium
    7. Ibague
    8. Cucuta
    9. Manizales
    10. Armenia
    11. Bucaramanga

Lastima que un pais tan grande........se reduzca en estos eventos a mostrar las ciudades del centro y unas del caribe, ojala en el 2026 hagamos o no el mundial, el mundo pueda conocer del pacifico, amazonia y los llanos.....

Pretty sure the stadiums have to be 40-50k+

You can't have a 30k stadium because no one knows who will be in what group and in what venue

What if the Cartagena group ends up being Germany, Italy, Argentina, Mexico/US.

Last smallest WC was 8 cities and next smallest since 94 was 9 cities.

I think it we do host a WC in 11 years we would need to build new stadiums. Think every stadium need a press area and then VIP boxes of you have the WC.

Haha the long bucket in Barranquilla and Bogota were interesting urinals

Biggest question on my mind. If we host will it be the only WC w/o Shakira and Juanes? Seriously still can't believe neither of them were at the U20 WC!!!

The stadium has to be a minimum of 40K.
Something that could help Colombia is that FIFA if considering only 8 venues for Qatar 2022. And after setting that as precedence...
... Colombia would have the right to say they can also host with 8 stadiums
