Hello There I am from England, and am a season ticket holder at Tottenham Hotspur. I just came to say hello, as my best friend is from Missouri, and lives ten minutes from the stadium in Raytown (also the chiefs stadium of course). i am over there every year, and love the area. I have been to see the chiefs three times, and the Wizards twice. I also met Preki at the Elvis Parade in downtown Kansas City Missouri three years ago which was fun, he was very nice to me, and we talked about the clubs he played for in England, Portsmouth and Everton. I am going to see Tottenham vs DC United a week on Thursday which i am looking forward to. Any replies would be greatly appreciated. Robbie (aka Tottenhamlover)
Greetings. Nice to have you stop by our forum. The next time you come to Kansas City during the Wizards season, stop by the Mystics tailgate and introduce yourself. There's food and drink to be had and we're all pretty friendly. A number of Mystics are EPL fans as well. I've not adopted an EPL side, but there are a few Arsenal, Chelsea, and Charlton fans, (even a Man U fan or two). I don't know if there are any Tottenham supporters in our midst. Since I hold no EPL allegiances, I can sign off by saying good luck to Tottenham and mean it!
Good to here from you. My question, which I ask often, is, having seen the Wizards play in person, and being a Tottenham season ticket holder, how do you think MLS stacks up quality wise vs the EPL. I've had a few Brits tell me that there are several MLS players who could do quite well in the EPL, I'm talking about American players who, may or may not be US internationials. I would think guys like Steve Ralston, Chris Klein, perhaps a guy like Richard Mulrooney or Ryan Suarez could cut it over there, not to mention a handful of goalkeepers. But I think of Cobi Jones failures, Eddie Lewis failures, etc. Our MVP this year, Taylor Twellman, couldnt get into the 1860 Munich lineup in the Bundesliga. I don't know if he wasnt good enough, or if foriegn player limitations are what stopped him. I watch the EPL regularly, and it's obviously better, but what is your opinion? James
Sorry james24, Thompson, and kopiteinkc, I forgot to mention Liverpool supporting Mystics/Wizards fans in my post. It wasn't intentional.
kevin, i'm insulted that I wasn't included in the liverpool supporters list. Not really, as I don't get to follow the squad as much as I used to. But still...
Not a problem. And Merlin, time to get back into the fold. Two words: Bruno Cheyrou. This guy will light up the EPL in the next season or two.
Charlton and Man City here. (Where I have no geographic connection, I like underdogs) Plus, how can you not like Charlton's logo with the sword being held up. Seriously, what's more English than that?
Welcome to the Forum. I live in Iowa - 200miles from KC, and rarely get to town. If it weren't for the Internet, I would really be in the dark. I've met some of the characters here, and really enjoyed sitting with the Mystics.
im an arsenal fan...the only reason why is because my old club team were the arsenal(like when i was 9)i really know nothing about EPL except from what i learm from playing Fifa 2002......
a local man utd fan Hey TottenhamLover, I am from Missouri but happend to be in Manchester last month for the Macabbi Hiaffa game as well as the Tottenham game at Old Trafford. Tottenham lost of course but played a great game. As much as I am not a Tottenham supported I love watching Teddy Sherringham play for you all now since he is an ex Man Utd player, but the thing that bothers me is why won't your coach put in Sergi Rebrov? He is a great forward and would really help your team out. Good luck on the rest of the season.
OK Tottenham Lover, are you gonna come back? The game is now over, we saw it on TV here, you were supposedly there. Let's have your report. James
