In their version of the story, Soccernet also mentioned that the club's finances were in disarray and that they were approaching players about accepting wage reductions.

Just as I predicted. Look for Andy Egli (just got fired at Waldhof Mannheim) as a possible replacement.

The attendance has been down (no wonder with all those defeats) and that affected this season's budget, therefore the financial disarray.

egli.....now there's a name I haven't heard in a while. I still remember him playing for Switzerland (I don't remember how many years ago), Switzerland was up 2-0 against Italy with only a few minutes left... Italy scores making it 2-1, then Egli fails to clear a ball and Italy ties it up!!!!!

Don't remember what the signifance of the match was, I'm thinking a World Cup qualifier.

    ahhhhhhh

I want to see Hejduk as their player/manager.
Can you imagine the style of play that team would have?

After seeing the effect of managerial changes on the first-team PT YA's (e.g Lewis @ Fulham, Kirovski @ Palace, and Vanney @ Bastia, and even previously Frankie @ Bayer) I couldn't agree more.

Hopefully this time will be different...

    I don't think Frankie's situation will change. Wasn't
Elgi a youth or reserve coach at St. Gallen? I know Frankie really hasn't had time to settle in yet but some what I've gathered he's showed glimpses of his talents. Whether or not its enough to save St. Gallen is another story.

I gotta agree with the bad news read on this. FH is not the new coach's player, he's the old guy's guy, added to that he has yet to endear himself to the fans or the team. He's an easy man for egli or whomever to leave out, and blame for his own coming failures (excessive wages taken up by an american stiff, or I'd be whipping some grasshopper tail). Really too bad right now.
Let's hope SOP for office politics don't apply to football.

If St. Gallen was a Dutch club, this might actually work :)

What was the connection with frankie to the coach that just got fired? Unless they go back in time with Leverkusen, then I don't see the problem. Frankie is obviously good enough just to walk in the dressing room and start right away for this club, so I don't see how the "stiff" theory applies here.

I'm not saying it will apply. I hope it doesn't and he steps back on the field as he should and all is fine under a new coach.
But the last coach brought him in, right? Much better players have been benched because they've been seen to be part of the old solution when the new guy arrives.
Course, this is pointless in a sense (it is bs after all). We'll know this weekend where FH stands.

Thomas Staub is the new coach.

Staub got promoted within the club (coached FCSG's U-21 side so far.)

I don't see any drastic changes for Frankie.

Why isn't Hejduk in Holland, especially Amsterdam?
