erm u mite wanna c a doctor....more acurately a chirpodist - foot specialist because it sounds like youve got a problem with the posture of ur feet. I had a similar problem. My feet used to roll in quite a bit but then they gave me insoles to wear to fix the problem. And I also had to do excersies to strenghten the achillies and calf muscles...

    hola. here's my problem.

when kicking hard with my right foot, the outside/bottom of my left heel (my plant foot) hurts like hell. it's kind of tender for a day or two, then it's cool... but everytime i go out and kick a ball it seems to re-aggravate the problem. anyone have a similar problem, and either know what the cause is or how to resolve it? does this sound like something that inserts can fix?

i had a problem like that but it was at the side of my left foot and everytime i would kick the ball hard it would hurt and get worse. i carried on playing in games (which i should'nt have) made it much worse and i was out of football for sometime having to use treatment.

did you ever find out what was causing the problem? were your boots not fitting correctly, or was it something that seemed to come and go without any real cause?

I had those problems too but I think it was just because of overuse. My coach said a heel cup might help.

To be honest mate go and see a physio and see what they say. All boots have heel protection on them, some more than others, but if you have a serious issue with your achilles then getting a strong boot is not going to solve it. It may seem like this, but in reality it will only get worse.

    Get it checked out!!

It's amazing what taking 10 days off from footballing can do. Just went out for a kickaround this evening, and my heel pain as well as other niggling injuries have vanished.

As for the cause, I'm pretty sure my boots are about a half size too big. I notice that my foot (heel area in particular) slides sideways and 'off' the sole of the boot when I plant hard... if that makes any sense.

Thanks to those who lent input.
