Now, I'm a good music person. My favorite band ever is the Pixies, with the Replacements, the Clash, Built to Spill, and Fugazi among my other favorites.

And I hate metal, for the most part, except in a kitschy kind of way.

    But . . .

Isn't Queensryche's "Operation: Mindcrime" the BOMB??!?!?!

If you're talking hair metal, i.e. Dokken then yes, it sucks. But newer "Hard Core" bands like Clutch, Helmet, Rammstein and BioHazard rock hard.

Pavement is my all-time fav. so it's not like I'm a metal head, but I still like listening to some old Anthrax and to me Master of Puppets is one of greatest albums of all time.

Isn't it funny how Metallica started sucking once they went to MTV? I don't think it's a coincedence.

All the albums they did in the 90's and now are more rock than metal. They are actually quite good. "Promise Land" "Hear in the now Frontier" "Q2K" and "Tribe" I all like.

All possible replies i can think of are nasty flames that would probably get me a yellow card, so i will only say that,as far as i am concerned, Queensryche ceased to exist in 1990.
