The Lancers were much more energetic this past week than they were in their 12/7 visit to Harrisburg. The first half was tight and the play at both ends by both teams was well balanced. It's hard to measure the Heat at this point. How are the Heat really going to handle the more impressive teams? They won't be playing the Lancers every week(?!). I have to say that Dominic Francis has really shown quality in his play this year. I was concerned with the effects of Carvalho leaving the Heat, but Francis is showing that he can truly be impactful and finish well. I see that Francis just signed on for another 5 years. I'm not sure what this really means. What would motivate a player to commit to a team for 5 years? I highly doubt that signing bonuses or healthy raises come into play at the MASL level.
