Max (or is it alan. their voices are so similar i can rarely tell them apart):
"It's been a great great season on fox sports world hotline and we certainly look forward to a full season next season. Many people have been writing me this week, dozens of emails asking if the Bundesliga is coming back. FSW, renewing all their deals. of course the Bundesliga expected to be back for 04-05."

I take this as a positive sign. I am sure he would have to be authorized to hint at something like this.

It is Allen Hopkins, possibly used to deter Max or Nick from asking for more than slightly above minimum wage for their services. Did not know you could e-mail him except through comments@foxsportsworld.com (maybe that IS how you e-mail him).

Nick did say that FSI had acquired the UEFA Cup final and some preceding second legs where Setanta also had a claim to the rights before it was confirmed that they had.

Allen probably would have to be authorized to say this, although FSI still might not renew the product if SportFive (the new marketing agent for Bundesliga) asks for a hefty price. The fact that he said he received "dozens" of e-mails should attest to the rather small viewing audience, hence nobody can realistically see FSI paying more than dirt-cheap prices for the product. Especially since TyC Argentina and ESPN Brazil have the more lucrative rights in those nations.

As far as I heard today,Hopkins said for sure that Bundesliga is coming back next year.He wouldn't say something like that on TV unless if some positive signs for renewing deal wasn't there. And you're wrong that Bundesliga audience is small. It's less of course than boringball ,garbagecanball and EPL,but still I know many who would rather watch Bundesliga than EPL(myself including).

oh no! Could you please check on this. Love the Dutch league and the ratings might be better if they didn't show PSV-TV every week.

Glad to hear Bundesliga is coming back - as it should.

Both German Bundesliga and French Ligue 1 are now the property of SportFive.

FSI should be able to renew both deals for $500000 combined if FSI wants to offer some variety on FOX Sports World and FOX Sports World Canada.

At this point, variety would be the only reason left for FSI to renew the deals.

FSI paid over $10 million a year for "all you can eat" US and Canadian TV rights to EPL.

Funny how my "bye bye German, French, Dutch, and Brazilian" comment got the viewers out of the woodwork to jam FSI email boxes.

    The end justify the means....

Ligue 1 could probably also be justified as "Tomorrow's EPL Stars TODAY." Much more so than Bundesliga or Dutch League, or even South America.

Also, I take it Christian Miles takes over Ligue 1 or Bundesliga with Sean Wheelock getting the other? Nick doing basically all of the English stuff and UEFA Cup, with Christian, Sean, John Harkes, and Chris Sullivan doing MLS.

We're just puppets to your wizardry Ollie, so now are we to believe that every time you're wrong you're just trying covertly to influence people in one way or another? What do I think is more likely your 'leak' caused people to write FSW and they changed their minds, or you were simply wrong?

    Exactly.

When he's right, he's right. When he's wrong, he's just cleverly being right.

Excuse me sir, your ego is showing.

For the first couple years I watched soccer on fox sports world i didn't even visit bigsoccer. which leads me to believe that there are many others that still watch but don't even know that it exists. last year spanish and scottish soccer went bye bye so i am willing to bet the fact that it is the end of the season and viewers want to make sure their favorite leagues are coming back next year is what triggered the email writing campaign, not your stupid thread.

Maybe Oliver wanted the Bundesliga and French leagues to stay all along. Maybe he was using reverse psychology on us to get us all angry and to flood FSW with email. Well, it worked. Good job, Oliver.

And isn't variety the reason that I, and many others on this board, gave for why FSW "might" renew these deals??

And aren't you the one that stated over and over again that "the accountant" was in charge at FSI? That FSW was a mature business and they wouldn't lose subscribers with just "wall to wall" EPL coverage? That they didnt' need the Bundesligia because it didn't sell targeted ads? Bla bla bla bla.

And wasn't it you that blasted another poster for stating that your posts were mere speculation and not fact? And now that they have been revealed to be just that.....mere speculation....what do you have to say?

Should we bookmark this thread so that every time Ollie starts acting like an ass, we can link to it?

If you really think that will do any good whatsoever.

By the way.......John Kerry will win the presidency in November......if I'm wrong its simply because my little post on bigsoccer.com convinced the Republicans to take his challenge seriously and to "get out the vote". Book it!
