This rumour is reported again this morning, apparently he will sign in Janurary for 150 grand. The report also stated he was offered a new 2 year contract by Celtic which he rejected.
If its true, it'd be a superb move for him and an apt two fingers to O'Neill who has criminally underplayed him. However, the story broke in the Sun - hardly the bible of journalistic integrity. I think another one of its "exclusives" today is "Cherie Blair's Phone Call With Satan -The Transcripts"
Re: Re: Healy to Everton If he gets a regular place alongside Carsley in a suprisingly good Everton team it would be great. The fact he has not even been in the Celtic squad lately is hard to believe. Surely the weekend match against Kilmarnock was the time to bring him in given that Celtic had played in Spain during the week?
Re: Re: Re: Healy to Everton Why would you play someone who will no longer be with you in a months time? Healy rejected Celtics last offer, no one came in for him before the transfer window closed and he will more than likely be off in January. As a celtic fan I hoped he would get a chance in the side, he didn't and now he wants off (don't blame him), but you cant blame MON for not playing a player who wants out.
All I have seen of Healy is few appearences in an Irish shirt, not a lot but he certainly looks useful. It would appear to me that the fact he cannot get into an average Celtic midfield is more the cause of his leaving, not the effect.
Hopefully he'll get his move in january and light up the prem. next spring! I reckon he'd be a steal for 150 grand. What is MON thinking?
Re: Re: Re: Re: Healy to Everton Fair enough, But why didn't he give him a decent chance last season or earlier this season? I know absolutely nothing about Scottish football, but from reports I've read its seems that the current central midfield incumbents are not exactly threatening Ronaldo for the European footballer of the year title. Still, nevermind, a cheap Eastern European import will be a more than adequate replacement.
It's in the Irish Times as well, so I'd say there's something in it - they don't usually write something unless it happened last year so there's no chance of it being wrong. Good piece by Emmet Malone about the Euro 2008 bid as well.
Of the myriad of players Moyes is looking over, Healy apparently isn't one of them. http://www.soccernet.com/england/news/2002/1218/20021218efcsaid.html
Yeah, true, I don't think Moyes is in the position to be broadcasting his interest in players just yet. Everything has to sort of happen on the DL right now as Everton are not a glamour club. Besides I know he was looking at a few African players, a Morroccan? and some Senegalese player from France...I am quite sure the purse strings are strained as far as player salaries go anyway, and are non existant as far as transfer funds go. So it would make sense for him to have a lead on 10 different players and not focus primarily on Healey.
