SKILL OF THE DAY ⚽Marcus Rashford turning defenders inside out wins Skill of the Day for yesterdays fixtures 🥜Has England's form looked good enough going into next summer's @UEFAEURO? 🤷🏻♂🏴#EURO2020 #HisenseSports pic.twitter.com/rEhuc5G8ru— Hisense Sports (@HisenseSports) November 18, 2019 unfair by Marcus... I watched this like 20 times today. He's put together a disgusting reel the last couple years.
https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/so...roove-after-confidence-takes-a-hit/ar-BBWXi1E Rashford is just the epitome of a confidence player: his current goal streak and the manner of his play (with him pulling off some great technical moves for instance) is evidence of this. And when he's on the way he's been as of late, the guy is a menace and frightening sight to opposing defenders. Also been made very clear at this stage that he just is at his best playing off of another forward who is in a more central position. Maybe he will be able to play that type of role some day or maybe he won't. Doesn't matter at this point though as the way he is being deployed now, be it with United or England, is the most optimal one commensurate to his strengths and qualities. And there is no need (at this stage of his career at least) to try and transform him into something he's not and probably will never be. What matters most right now is for him to get some consistence in his game: if he can do that, he really will step up to the next level.
If we could get our hands on a ball dominant creative RW who could score & create (I know, unicorn). Rashford playing an isolated role where we could get him in space against a FB would be devastating. Kinda like how Pep has used Mahrez or other inverted wingers.
Sancho is there for the taking, with him looking to leave Germany by season's end at the latest. We can only hope that the board will finally step up the way we need them to, in order to give Ole the chance at least, to build a great United team again. United not being in the CL might still be an issue there. But even if we fail again this season, I'd hope that he could somehow be genuinely convinced that he would be just a piece (albeit an important one) of the team's current rebuild, with more to come after him. Kind of like it was when we got Pogba, with the key difference obviously being that the board actually follows up on that pledge. A longshot obviously, but if these steps were implemented, I think there's a good chance of getting Sancho.
someone mentioned him having a similar pace before and as of now Rashford: 9G + 5A Sadio Mané: 9G + 6A league only. he's doing well for being in a shit team with a shit manager and no plan or no hope. all things being equal he will hit the 20G we asked for at the start of the season. never thought he'd be in a better position to do it than Martial but that's football for you. kudos to him
Doubters just spur me on 🤷🏾♂️A proper Old Trafford night and a great 3 points 🔴⚪️ pic.twitter.com/58eroLbcJm— Marcus Rashford (@MarcusRashford) December 4, 2019 Directly involved in 11 goals in his last 10 appearances in all competitions for Manchester United (9 goals, 2 assists). Also got 5 MotM awards so far this term. He's stepped in a huge way recently. 9 goals and 4 assists in the Prem (12/4 in all comps). Definitely needs to get at least 20 in the league this season and depending on how deep our run is in cup competitions, I'd be looking at 25-30 from him in all comps as well. Signed a big contract and this is the year for him to take it up a notch or two.
Rashford can follow in Sterling's footsteps. https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...shford-manchester-united-city-raheem-sterling Scored his 13th goal of the season today in the derby, matching his season best in the last 2 seasons. Really no reason, if he can meet a certain level of consistency, that he fails to reach the 20 goal mark minimum in the league.
Rashford has matched his highest goal total already this season. He has scored 13 in all comps the last two seasons, and had 10 in the league last season. This season he already has 10 in the league and 13 overall. Also at only 22, he already has 38 for United and 10 for England.
It's easy to compare Rashford to Ronaldo - Ole https://www.skysports.com/football/...do-comparisons-easy-says-ole-gunnar-solskjaer That's putting a lot on Rashford, pressure wise, some might say undue pressure even. But in a way, I see what Ole is doing here by deliberately setting a high bar for Rashford to reach for. Whether he ultimately can reach those heights remains to be seen. But at 22 now, it's really time for him to kick it up a couple of notches, so he actually can fulfill the potential that was seen in him when he first broke out. Sidenote, it was also when he was 22 (2006-07 season) that Ronaldo had his real breakthrough (in terms of scoring at least) with his first 20+ goals for the season. Which was following SAF setting the challenge to him prior to the season to increase his scoring output. He really exploded from January on. The hope for Rashford here is that he can sustain the pace he's been on in recent weeks but he really should smash his previous best numbers pretty easily.
All of a sudden he is diff a player playing on a diff level as well. Not sure what got in him but still plenty of room for improvement. If he can sort out finishing he could score bucket of goals for fun. One thing he clearly lacks is paoching and making late smart runs in between CB.
