DMB has been booked to play there on July 26 and 27th. Hopefully it's not torn up too badly. They will have a week to get the pitch back in shape before the All Star Game. And to filter out the pot smoke ;)

    Midwest, the real one.
Is that one of those trick 'When was the War of 1812?' questions? -I can never remember.

I didn't know Dave had announced their summer tour dates yet. Where did you get this info SnakeEyes?

I think it's more like a "Who was buried in Grant's tomb?" kind of question. :D

The band's website posted the dates last night... www.davematthewsband.com.

Not to get off topic here, but, are you going to any Dave and Tim shows?

God I wish. I tried to get tickets for both radio city music hall, and for the show in kenosha wisconsin, to no avail. Tix on ebay are astronomically high too, and with my college student cash flow, no way I can afford it. I went to a couple shows last summer at alpine valley, which were to of the best dave show's i've been to in the last 5 years. Personally, i think their live act has been declining in the last couple years, they seemed to really be just going through the motions of late, but the alpine valley shows this summer were a real breath of fresh air.

Needless to say, I've been killing to go to a Dave and Tim solo show ever since Live at Luther came out, but haven't been able to get tickets. I think this spring's tour sold out in something like 10 mins.

Actually I thought 2002 was a great tour year, I went to 7 shows and each had a ton of energy onstage except for Sandstone, but that crowd always sucks. Woodlands was awesome, as was winter United Center and U of I (damn Halloween tease :/) They just need to bring a few more songs back into rotation like Typical, Last Stop, Minarets, i'll Back You Up, Best of What's Around, Angel From Montgomery, Stay, and Say Goodbye. Hopefully the D&T tour will lead to Dave praticing these up again (maybe even JTR!) and to some new stuff and lead to Tim touring with them this summer.

Yeah, the only outdoor shows I saw were the ones at Alpine, and a lot of people I talked to at the show who had been following Dave last summer said the sunday night show was the best one of the year, they opened with pig, also played that new one gravedigger, as well as a bunch of older stuff. I went to the Target Center show last year and that just sucked nuts compared to Alpine this year and most of the other shows i've been to.

Minnesota shows up until 2002 have always sucked :/

I'm going to Kenosha. I'm just afraid of what the crowds will be like this year.. 99 was bad enough.

BTW.. my first Dave related show WAS Live at Luther College! My brother dragged me to the show since my parents were away and he was "in charge." I didnt really want to go but left the show a fan :)
