haven't been any posted in a while...with a week and a half away, i'm curious to see what it looks like with all the boards, timers, etc.....
That looks like the picture that appeared in USA Today. The article discussed whether the WWC Final would be at the Rose Bowl or HDC. I'm of the mind that group play could be at HDC and the Final at RB.

Thanks for the link MD_05 Those are some great pics. What trophy is this? That is one nice looking trophy!
That's the Dewar Cup. Previously awarded to the winner of the US Open Cup. Don't think it is anymore.
Thanks Jerry. Check out the movie tittled "The Soccer Stadium" and let me know what you think of the Goal http://www.la-soccer.com/new_stadium/3June2003/movies/movie_index.html I agree with Treetaliano in hoping that is only a temporary goal. If not we at bigsoccer may have to start a tradition of providing each new stadium built in MLS with a set of Box-goals. How much does a set cost / 250,000 = X amount of $ per person. It can be done.
I hope not as well. If you look at the other pictures on that site you'll notice that they only have a goal at the one end. Why? I have no idea.
i can't believe they're using the checkered pattern for the grass cut...... if they're not straight across, how the hell are the linesman going to make proper offside calls!?! remember the tricky circular cuts san jose used last week?!? that really threw them off.
Pitch runs essentially north-south. Tunnel from dressing rooms enters field at south east corner. Dressing rooms etc. are under the Stadium Club restaurant on south side of field.
just notice this....you'd think a sony, toshiba or samsung would've kicked in for a bigger, widescreen jumbotron for the place.... i'm sure it'll happen in a few years...
Last time it was presented at a victory celebration, IIRC, was 1999 when Rochester beat Colorado in Columbus. Winning team's names and year won are still placed on the base of the trophy, and the trophy is still taken from city to city, just that the "presented trophy" is different.
yup...i know...i was kidding....if you watched the san jose / chicago game last weekend you would've heard ty keough give an excuse for the linesman completely missing an offside call (which lead to an important chicago goal) by blaming it on the circular grass cut patterns on the field.....
