Cheap option but pass. At 27 and his size I have concerns he’d adapt to the EPL in time to make it worth it. If we’re getting a LB I want one that’s 100% an upgrade to what we have.
What if Taglifico is an upgrade but is just 27? Is he worth it with his age? I know nothing about the guy except that he's Argetinian and plays for Ajax.
I don’t know that he is. He’s also: Height: 5′ 8″ Weight: 143 lbs Serious doubts over whether he can handle the physicality of the league. He’s got good speed but he’s also not a speedster. Id rather get a young player with big upside or a proven vet that’s legit 100% no questions asked upgrade.
Emerson is 5'9, 139lbs. I've read some negative things about Tagliafico regarding his positioning (lack thereof)...the press seem to be going a bit bonkers with the Ajax-Chelsea rumors. If you remember, we were going to get their manager a year so ago, too.
And many have complained that it took a year plus for Emerson to adjust to the league. He flash strong to start the season then picked up an injury and dropped off again. The physical nature of the league will not be easy for him to adapt to off the bat. Add in his age and it makes it even harder. If we had a n1 LB and he’s a back up go for it. But as someone to come in and be the lock n1. Too many questions.
Everyone usually needs time. Has Chillwell even properly adjusted? He's OK. Don't like the British tax on him.
The news around clubs balking at Werner's 55m release clause is very odd. It's peanuts for a young, top striker.
Seems a no brainer at that price. Of course who knows what prices look like in the new market? Given the conversation in the news thread there is the additional challenge of integrating a new player into the squad. No preseason matches make that a much harder task. Just one more hurdle for teams and players to clear.
Old market, new market - 55m is nothing. Show him we want him. Pay it. Fly him to London. Take him somewhere special, like McDonalds.
We are getting paid 48 million for Morata this summer so take that and some under the sofa cushion Roman money and Timo time, and besides Timo worth about 2 Billion dollars in Morata money
I think Timo only leaves if it's for Liverpool. He's got the wet pants for Jurgen. And Jurgen has the wet pants for Timo.
@Brock Hannsen responding to you here I have faith in Lampard's ability to recognize younger talent/potential at this point. While I'm not sold on Chillwell, if Lamps really, really wants him then maybe there's a good reason for it. Otherwise, sounds like they have no need to sell and he'd be insanely expensive if he were to leave which makes him not worth it imo..
