Have you ever got a Spurs kit or some merchandise as a gift?

    I was thinking
what if a family friend or relative or something didnt know which team you support and got you a Spurs jersey.
Its not like you can burn it or throw it out or anything

    Has it happened to anyone?

Not with Arsenal, but I had a similar situation happen with the MLS....
I got a mailing to sign up for an MLS credit card. The picture of the card in the mailer had the MLS logo on it. When the card came in the mail a few weeks later, it had a Dallas Burn logo. I was insulted and puzzled. There had been no mention of team logos, nor any way to indicate a preference. Since I live in Minnesota, I suppose there was no way to guess what team I cheered for, but I was confused why they sent me Dallas since that is not even close to me. My only guess was since Dallas sucks no one was ordering that card so they had the most of those in stock???
Anyway I called the company and told them I would not use the card til I got one with the Chicago Fire on it or at least the MLS logo. A few weeks later they did send me a new card.

Well my brother is a Spurs fan so its not much of an issue...

That said a friend of his bought him an Arsenal shirt for when he comes along to games with me at Highbury. Unlike most people I know he doesn't have an ingrained hatred for Arsenal "just because". He's more than happy to watch 90 minutes of live world class football. Trouble is the shirt is XL and I take a medium so I couldnt pilfer it :)

Is it made of asbestos? Then like hell you can't burn it. We'll just douse it in gasoline and ignite it instead :)

Someone gave me a ManU tshirt as a gift last year. I just took it to work and gave it to one of the guys who's a fan. I should have taken it to a voodoo place and had it hexed, but I didn't.

If it were Spurs I'd toss it out if I couldn't exchange it. I wouldn't want to see anyone in one of those shirts.

I guess it's not quite the same, but my son was selected Male U9 to U11 Camper of the Week at his club's pre-season camp in August, and the prize was a Man U shirt. He was beaming, and I was so proud of the accomplishment that I just had to grit my teeth and congratulate him. I was wearing my PV4 shirt at the time, too.

Nah, he'll root for whoever we're playing just to wind me up. He took a stab at being a ManU fan for a bit (this is before the jersey, even), then when McBride went to Fulham he followed them for a while, but he's not really interested in "foreign" soccer. We go to all the Crew games together, though.
