Seriously, in the history of this team how many times have we scored directly off of a corner kick. We always get pumped up for corners in 101 with the "Here We Go" chant, but I can't remember the last time we actually put one of those in the back of the net.
The last time I remember is when Lisi scored a header off of a Tab Ramos corner vs. DC (away) this year.
Corners was the only thing Kelly was ever good at. I remember a few headers put home from a fine Kelly cross.
... since you asked. Tab scored a famous one (so how come you don't know about it?) vs. Tampa in the 1996 season. He scored directly from the corner after it bounced off a Tampa player, if memory serves me well.
The only one I can clearly remember is One by the Metros against Gala (Turkey) . Tab sent the ball across and Bartlett sent it in . That might have been Bartlett's only goal for the Metros and It didn't even count for anything .
No way... Bartlett had a wicked sweet goal against SJ. If I remember correctly it was the final minutes of the first half and he nailed a wicked hard shot from around the 35 and put it right in the top corner. Gotta stick up for my boy Bartlett, he was one of our best players who gets zero respect. Wasn't his fault he played on those horrible teams.
This year, the Metros have been horrible with scoring on all set-pieces. This is why Petke hasn't has a single goal or assist this year (he's had an assist every year so far). If they expect to get into the playoffs and make Jolley's prediction come true, they better practice corners, free-kicks and throw-ins.
Not true. It did not count. It is as if it didn't happen. Plus Metrocoarzon's touchdown was more embarrasing.
