You know the news...the WUSA released a new campaign to drum up monetary support for the next incarnation of the leauge in 2005 and beyond.

Have you pledged your $ yet?

I started this same thread in the Freedom forum (I'm hoping that the team forums don't find their way onto Thomas Flannigan's radar...maybe these threads can remain civil). I voted "no". For me, as well as several of my friends in DC, this whole ticket fund thing just doesn't sit well with us and our hard earned money. We would like to see something more concrete than what is currenlty now seeming like a pipe dream. Actually THEY would probably like to see more specifics laid down and a strong guarantee that the league will definately happen next year. I just live in a trailer park in Idaho...I just really don't have a strong backyard connection to either the Beat or Freedom...hence one of the main reasons I haven't pledged $$$ from my rockclimbing shoe fund.

    Ticket initiative=donation/desperation

Most of the time I get on here to set the record straight but this time I can't help myself from jumping in to agree. What is with this program? It hardly inspires those of us who love the league to "buy tickets" ...I mean, where will the teams even be located? So for Joe fan of women's soccer in say, Dallas, St. Louis, or Portland they are supposed to just fork over their money for "tickets" they will never use? They might as well just put their hand out and ask for a donation....I might do that actually, but this new initiative smells of desperation. What is this? Amateur hour?

As much as I would love to be able to hand over $1000 to the league, it just isn't feasible. My finances are stretched to the limit as it is. Give me something concrete and I'll put in extra hours to pay for tickets, but I can't give away money based on hope alone.
