I admit that coming into the match with Columbus I was extremely down about the rest of the season. However, the wildly improbable nature of our victory on Saturday makes me wonder if lady luck isn't again visiting her blessings on us. Do you think that this portends that for the rest of this season, the bounces will start to go our way?

Let's not scare Lady Luck off by talking about her...

I couldn't tell ya the answer to this question. Only time can give that answer.

But right now, I'm still nervous about the last two regular season games. LA is on fire. And Ruiz needs to be shut down. Or that worm's gonna head straight for the rotten Fish!!

Thanks. My 6th grade education may have blessed me with street smarts, but them book smarts are something I have yet to be learned.

If Lady Luck is really going to smile the next two games she's going to have to lower our goals-against considerably.

And apparently, I will need to lower my vocabulary down to "My Weekly Reader" levels lest I be accused of catachresis! ;)

    catachresis:
    1. use of the wrong word for the context
    2. use of a forced and especially paradoxical figure of speech

    :D

I had to look that one up on www.m-w.com . That's a hint for all of you with a 6th grade education. ;)

LOL!! I think I will leave that up to MW. :D

I think you should be like the word of the day man. You have to come up with one big word everyday and use it in a post!

Having watched the entire LA game , I'd say their LadyLuck is kkkkkkickin' also . Chicago hit the goalpost 3 times , crossbar twice , Kovalenko was given red , when he should've been scoring on PK . LA woke up with about 15 minutes left in the game , and scored last goal on a counterattack. Ruiz has an assasin's instinct , and the whole team is working for him . We just got to press them , and posses the ball , as well as always leave 3 men behind the circle . Seems , whoever takes the weekend series , will make it to the finals , due to overwhelingly strong home record . LA Times was whinning as well , that Galaxy can not win away from home . Their home/road record is actually pretty close to ours .

Maybe we are due for a win on the road this weekend. I do think we are extremely unlucky away from the fort but who knows what will happen.

Let's just hope the Quakes will have some good fortune from here on out.

This portends good fortune. What do you guys mean, you've never heard this word on BigSoccer. Oh, that's right, not on BigSoccer, but Rob Stone and Jack Edwards use it all the time. "This portends climbing the ladder."

Yea, bsman wants us to envision him as a kinda frail, nerdy, bespectled, but highly intelligent and well spoken. WELL, IT AIN'T GONNA WORK BSMAN. I know the truth!!

I think bsman actually started this out with a typo. He meant to type 'port end'. It's a phrase his wife uses a lot, as in "get your port end outta that chair, and get the damn lawn mowed..."
