Don't lie man, we know you frequented rest stops all the time to meet some "buddies". Buddies that look like Aimer, no less.
You'd know they have em if you didn't spend all the time trying to get your quarter out which is stuck in the machine when you were trying to buy a French Tickler.
Bumped so the youngins know what it was like around here before every post had to be in one of three threads.
I wanted to post something about how the forum was much better ten years ago, but then I got too tired to think of anything remotely witty.
I'm not going to lie, when I saw this posting today, I did not originally see the date it was posted and quickly turned on CNN and looked at cnn.com to see what was happening in Columbus.
I'd be interested to know how many people came over as a result of that site folding and still consistently post. Three? five? ten? twenty? It's probably not a whole lot. I think the bigger culprit is that the people who were college-age then and would go to games as part of the "original" V-Army all grew up, had kids, maybe moved away, and grew out of the supporter/Nordecke demographic. When they stopped following the team for whatever reason, they naturally stopped posting here.
My favorite MN story had to do with that "moderator" who ran the thing 24/7. Cannot remember his name. Anyway, he hated BS and he hated anybody who posted here and he particularly hated me. I know, right? So one day I tried to post something and discovered that my account had been deleted. I got an automatic message that said, as God is my witness "Banned for being Bill Archer from BigSoccer" I swear I almost hurt myself laughing.
I came to BS from Matchnight. Timon was probably the last refugee aboard the BS ship. There are still a fair number of people here who posted there back in the day.
I discovered matchnight first in 2006 right before it completely disappeared. Then found my way over here and have been here ever since, even though some would throw me back like a fish.
