Yeh, I know, if I'm asking this question I'm probably too old to be refereeing soccer. You may be right. Anyway, I'm going to have this surgery - both eyes (one at a time) - in September-October. I know that there are different kinds of lenses that can be inserted. My wife has a lens in one eye for near vision and one for far. And there are other - more expensive - options. I'm wondering how lenses like my wife's would affect ones vision for refereeing. She doesn't have much of a problem seeing and adjusting, but then she doesn't referee. Anyone have any experience at such? If so, what are your thoughts?
I had mine done last fall. I have the far lenses in both eyes (my dr.'s advice, not for soccer per se, but overall for me...& gotta bring out the reading glasses for check ins). It has made a world of difference! Last year was one of my most frustrating, and this year is one of the best. It's easy not to notice the gradual loss of vision, but when it is restored...wow! Hope you have a similar experience. Good Luck!
Not really related to cataracts, but my wife tried the near and far approach with contact lenses and never was able to get comfortable with it. No big deal for contacts, but potentially a big problem with new lenses after surgery. YMMV
