Here's a nice representation of the cost of watching all Premier League matches in the UK. It explains why so many people use dodgy East European and Asian apps. This is in pounds = $1.27.
I just looked it up. Blackburn Rovers is charging 180 pounds ($225) for its international streaming service this season. I assume other Championship teams are similarly priced. Ridiculous.
Search Labs | AI Overview Learn more … As of May 2024, the total cost to watch every NFL game in the US was $1,610, which includes the following services: Network games: $876 for games on Fox, CBS, NBC, ABC, and ESPN NFL Sunday Ticket: $389 via YouTube TV Amazon Prime Video: $139 Peacock: $60 NFL+: $40 ESPN+: $99 Netflix: $7
I think this is overstated. The networks are free, Prime Video is $8.99/month, Peacock has one exclusive game, I don't think anything is exclusive on ESPN+, and you can cancel everything for seven months if you're just subscribing to get the NFL.
I have not given up totally but I do not watch as many matches as I used to. Part of that is the Apple thing. Part of it is my Chicago Fire are a hard watch.
For a while (and depending on what year), the Crew was on a statewide news channel called ONN. It was only on cable (no satellite) and if you had Time Warner, you were probably out-of-luck, as you needed their digital tier. Games were, however, on Direct Kick. Direct Kick generally took the feed of the "more-major RSN" which was generally the Fox Sports affiliate broadcast, but could have been the other broadcast if they had pregame or postgame. Crew games were available on Direct Kick all across the state, even if the customer subscribed to ONN.
Unless something changed, aren't the Europe-based NFL games exclusive to ESPN+? Fox and CBS, are free as you mentioned. ESPN+ has, what, the European based games. Exclusive? Peacock has the exclusive games, but they also have the NBC games on the highest tier. Amazon has the Thursday games. What everyone fails to mention is that with all those apps and whatnot, you're also getting other stuff. Of course Amazon Prime is expensive, but it also comes with a streaming music service (of course you WILL subscribe to Spotify because it seems to be an unwritten rule that people have two ways to stream music.) Peacock and ESPN+ also have a gaggle of other shows.
Looks like ESPN+ has one exclusive game, a Monday Night game that will be simultaneous with another game that will be on ESPN as usual. The European games (4 this year) are exclusive on NFL Network. If one doesn't have NFL Network it can be streamed through the NFL+ app, $6.99/month. Peacock had one exclusive game, the one in Brazil this past Friday. Netflix has the Christmas Day doubleheader, which according to one article I saw will also be available on NFL+.
