OK, but the reason you gave sounded less like an actual criticism and more like someone who's already made up his mind choosing a talking point from a list.
CBS studio team coverage for the Champions League is the circus. MLS on Apple has felt pretty elevated for the most part.
Plus we’ve already seen something similar with the Beckham effect. World superstars are always going to be treated as such. Dudes in the French league wanted Messi to hold their babies after the game.
The one thing MLS on Apple could do better is their 360 show. Use the commentators of the regular broadcast. They don't need 3-4 other guys commentating on a limited-time game when they have two people doing so for the full game. It'd be nice if they had a single-team option, but that'd probably do away with the tons of free games. (Select one team's games, their MLS NP games and MLS 360 for $80/season.) How much would this cost the league and/or Apple? How many more viewers might they get? It's absolutely not necessary for this to happen, but it might be nice. There could still be 2-3 free preview weekends per season. Where I'm interested in watching is with other leagues. The NBA is close to signing deals with local/regional TV, ESPN, NBC and Amazon...and that doesn't even include NBA League Pass. What does MLS know that these guys don't? Maybe the NBA could have signed deals like this: 1) All games on Amazon, regardless of viewer location. 2) Teams are free to sign their own TV deals if they so choose. -- The one big downfall of the MLS deal...they lost the casuals. 3) ESPN...because you damn well know they want Christmas Day and The Finals on ABC.
The Seattle Kraken (NHL) signed a deal with Amazon to be their local TV partner starting next season. Its region limited to just the Pacific NW though, those of us who live further away still need to watch through ESPN+.
They will be OTA on Tegna-owned stations in Seattle, Spokane, and Portland and on Amazon in Washington, Alaska, and Oregon. (Tegna owns the NBC affiliate in Seattle)
Seattle and Spokane are the two biggest TV markets in the state (and Portland for Oregon). But if if you're not in those markets you might have local OTA stations, not Tegna owned, so you don't get the Seattle/Spokane/Portland stations. When they announced the deal they said they would b working to get more OTA stations in the three states but I haven't heard of any additions.
You wrote: "I always tell people you can donate plasma one time. Around here you get $150 for your first donation of plasma, more than enough to pay for season pass. I have a job where I make a lot of money but when I was a starving college student I donated plasma a couple times a week Everyone should be able to afford this." That sounds like arrogance to me. And I still do not understand why you are trying to make a connection between watching MLS on TV, donating plasma and "social justice." What is "SWJ"?
Well Messi just popped his Achilles on the crappy Copa America turf so MLS better find a way to pivot their entire marketing strategy.

To what benefit? If the fans wanted to hear the match's announcers talk specifically about that match and nothing else, they could tune into THE MATCH, and not MLS 360 in the first place. Being in the studio for the show that looks around the entire league gives them the opportunity to tie together what's happening in ALL the games.
My main issue was killing the deal with TMobile. I won't pay for it but having mls season pass from tmobile was sweet last year. plus Apple TV doesn't block screenshotting like other streaming platforms do so being able to capture stat graphs directly from the feed is fun when adding it to forum discussions (Snip & Sketch). If you try Snip & Sketch from other streaming platforms (like Youtube) it just displays a black screen.
I assume with this statement you are not a DC United fan. When DC United was on local tv, they played second place to both the Washington Capitals and Washington Wizards on game nights, if DC United even got game time on TV. Then DC United was put on a 24 hour local news channel that only about 15% of people had. Then DC United was put on some streaming service you had to pay for and only worked about 10% of the time. Buying Direct Kick did not work either as they were blacked out in the local area. So, paying to get to see the games I want to see, other than having to watch whatever national game of the week is on, is worth it. I get to see the games I want and whenever I want. If paying $75-$100 is too much to get every single MLS match, then you must not really care about MLS then. "It was great when it was easily accessible and all the games were on TV, and the games were put in front of millions of eyeballs." Do not know a time back to '96 when all the games were on TV. Also, as I pointed out even games in my local area were never easily accessible. You obliviously have not been watching MLS and are showing your ignorance.
I will pay $75 to be able to watch every single MLS game. Heck Sunday NFL Ticket is $450+ for a season. Real MLS fans will shell out $75-$100 to watch. If $75 is to expensive, then you were not a real fan to begin with!
If you want to watch more then what FOX puts out on an irregular basis, be my guest, but that is why we have MLS season pass now. Why would Fox pay to produce more matches than they have to when they are on MLS season pass?
Wow, three matches, let me unsubscribe to Season Pass now as I have been wasting my money watching all the MLS matches on Season Pass as there are three on Fox for the whole month.
Baltimore County. When I lived in Howard, I could get DC United on News Channel 8, but move to Baltimore and no more News Channel 8. Direct Kick always blacked out DC United in Howard or Baltimore Counties as they are considered local area even though I could not watch DC United in Baltimore County.
