http://www.courant.com/community/ha...illon-stadium-development-20180104-story.html State and city leaders will move ahead with a plan to redevelop the badly aging Dillon Stadium, with a goal of gaining approval from government agencies by February and completing the facility by March 2019. But this time, instead of allowing the soccer team’s owners to oversee construction efforts, the Capital Region Development Authority will manage the project. As much as $7 million in public funds would be committed to the enterprise. A new soccer team, backed by the United Soccer League, is expected to begin playing at the Colt Park stadium in spring 2019.
USL president Jake Edwards confirmed the new Hartford team in his interview with fourfourtwo and that the NPSL team Hartford City will probably be apart of the new team.
yeah not so sure about that NPSL team being involved here: http://www.courant.com/community/ha...rd-dillon-stadium-funding-20180209-story.html The bond commission meets on Friday. If the funds are approved, CRDA would oversee the renovations. The agency in December chose Hartford Sports Group, led by Woodbridge businessman Bruce Mandell, to be the primary tenant at the stadium. Mandell has said he and his partners are committing $7 million to $10 million of their own funds to launch a new soccer team, backed by the USL. The city, which owns Dillon, is currently negotiating a contract with Hartford Sports Group. Both sides are hoping to have development completed and the stadium open by March 2019. Mandell’s team would begin playing there that spring.
