Juve to bid £6m for Harte - report

Juventus are to submit a £6million bid for Ian Harte in January, the Daily Star says.

The Leeds defender was left on the bench on Saturday and has been booed by supporters this season.

Leeds are keen to reduce the size of their squad to cut their debts.

What is it that big foreign clubs see in Hartey? Barca, Inter, Bayern and now Juve have all been linked with His Slowness in the past.
Do I get the whiff of an 'in-joke' among UK hacks? Never has such a poor player been linked with so many big teams.

I think we should start a counter rumour here. Why not a big player with a small Irish club?

Apparently Zinedine Zidane is being strongly linked with a shock move to UCD to see out the twilight years of his career.

Over to you, the Irish Mirror......

    In defence of Ian Harte

Not so long ago Ian Harte was the left back in the premiership team of the year two years running.

Yes he is suffering an absolutely dismal loss of form. Yes he has been dropped by Leeds and should be dropped by Ireland (have we a creditable replacement?)

However, I for one hope he recovers his form and would love to see him banging in goals from free kicks again and playing to his full potential.

I hear Trevor Molloy was being tapped up by Barca days before he left Carlisle, but thought taking a chance in the Irish league may help furthur his career.
