i'd be ok with capello. i like Moyes but it just seems like a bit of a gamble, and the window for success is closing if they don't produce a CL spot next season
AVB still strong favourite, Harry's mates in the media already on the attack trying to claim the players are in revolt about it and also trying to claim fans are as well. Total BS.
His first choice is clearly Chelsea. Di Matteo's league form was poor and Pep turned them down, think he'll hope they start poorly and he can use Lampard and his media mates to get the job. QPR would be his backup and West Ham 3rd choice. Blanc now being heavily favoured, would be interesting.
I've heard a couple of Chelshite fans saying AVB would be a better fit for Spurs than he was for them as our defence is faster (for the high line tactics) and he won't have to shift a bunch of ancient egos.
I hadn't seen any of those stories yet, so I did a quick search. Funny what came up first: http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2896...enham-players-revolt-against-manager-redknapp Rangnick also in the running, it appears.
That would be so great, for no other reason than to hear 'Arry trying to handle Joey Barton fiascos in the press.
if it's AVB he will, of course, get my unconditional support, and i will hope for the best. emotionally, however, i will prepare myself for a particularly long 180-degree stride in levy's overall strategy of 'two steps forward, one step back'.
AVB is a big gamble, but I think it's worth it. Capello's odds have dropped heavily, now 2nd favorite. Looks like the club is speaking to him at least. I guess weighing up the options but AVB still number 1.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/jun/20/andre-villas-boas-tottenham-manager-talks?CMP=twt_gu or mabey not?
Gotta be careful what you read, but if true, SMH. Who do these guys think they are trying to threaten Levy?
You'd think that his agent (it's always the agent on these things) would realize what happens when you try to intimidate Levy. He just smiles and moves on to another option, because he knows there is always another option.
I'd take the Guardian article with a pinch of salt, it's a Manc writer who was earlier claiming it was a done deal. Classic media backtrack. It does look clear though that the club are still talking to candidates, as you would expect any club to do.
If we hire AVB, it seems a perfect fit with our personnel, particularly if we keep Modric and Bale. http://www.eplindex.com/15759/andre-villas-boas-tottenham-hotspur.html
But he needs to fix the defensive line problem. Like Chelsea, we don't have any quick centrebacks to play that high line. Kaboul is probably the fastest centreback.
