I think it's classy that the Crew are willing to let Harkes go to DC in the closest thing MLS has to a Free Transfer. Business wise not so good, because you'd like to wrench something away from a divisional rival for a player they want, but in human terms it's the right thing to do for Harkes.
Hear, Hear! JH was an asset here and deserves some respect on the way out. IMO, that's just good buisiness protocol anyhow. Who wants associated with a team that has a reputation as petty little pricks.
You all might be missing the fact he may be simply let go because we have no cap....is his contract up anyway?
