I think he's just waxing sentimental.

Uhm - I am already home. Well, actually I am at work but I am really close to home.

Oh wait, you mean the real Harkes. Gotcha.

Don't read too much into this - he was talking about returning to Shef Wed recently

Yea, I think Harkes would go to Torquay United if they paid him enough...

He is only 35 and wants at least another year or two of paydays before moving on to "coaching for life". I wish him luck. Perhaps a move to the Mariners ala Supa Roy would give him what he seeks...

The only thing I'd read into Harkes' comments is that he isn't sure that the Crew are willing to have his salary on their payroll. He's keeping his options open. I do believe everything he said in those articles, I'm not trying to say he's just blowing smoke, but I think that he wants and expects to remain in Columbus, but he realizes they have cap problems.

At a low salary I do think Harkes could fit in as a holding midfielder for Ray. But, I haven't seen any indication that Ray wants him.

Actually, I'd rather have the '98 team. By far the best United squad.....and they had fewer three named players.

Did you stop to think that maybe that was on purpose?

Now you've reminded us of him.

    Thanks a lot.

Also let me tell you that after the Open Cup win, harkesy was telling Crew fans how his heart belongs to Columbus.

Harksey is full of doo doo and will say most anything to get fans to love him!!! Just ask Mrs Wynalda. I think it is time for him to retire and move into coaching.

As long as we're getting all technical and nitpicky, a "Harkes Homecoming" would result in him playing for the Scum, being that he's from Jersey and all.
