When I was living in Galapagos a few years back we had a Thanksgiving dinner cruise for our American customers. One of them said, "I did not know that you celebrated Thanksgiving in Ecuador??" DUH!!! I politely answered, "We don't. You see, when the pilgrims and natives were celebrating the good harvest in N America, the Indios were still suffering from the oppression caused by the Spanish Conquistadores, so they had very little to give thanks for." Though I am a US citizen, I am of German (father) and Ecuadorian (mother) blood and like many of you that are living in the US, I have embraced the traditions this great country has offered me since I can remember. Having lived in Germany, Ecuador and the United States I consider myself Thankful to have a great family, wonderful wife, good health, great job, the joy of England missing out of the Euro's next year and Ecuador beating the shit out of Peru last night!! Have a Wonderful Thanksgiving!!
I missed this thread. Happy late Thanksgiving. I made Turducken. Though it was the juciest creative piece I have ever made, never again will I debone birds. There was something in the act that made me feel very uncomfortable. I hope al of you enjoyed your holiday.
I think I will have leftovers for about a week. Half of the turkey is gone. The rest of the food is finishing up. I am going to start taking turkey on a daily basis for lunch until it is finished or I get tired of it. I had a great time together with the family. Unfortunately, I could not say the same for LDU Q that lost their game vs Independiente de Avellaneda. As soon as that game was over, I switched to America vs El Santos and I got to see the goal scored by "El Chucho". I was happy for him. I hope he keeps scoring so it becomes natural for him to score goals for the National Team.
