Ridiculous as in he was out of this world. Once I’ve got a complete picture of who Michel Platini truly was as a player, I’ll be able to answer your question about how highly I rate him. Over the past few weeks, I’ve been watching every available Juventus match and highlight of his that I could find, noting every major chance created, assist, pre-assist, and outstanding dribbling run. It’s about time every lingering football myth surrounding this player is put to rest once and for all. I’ll post my findings here once I’m fully satisfied with it.
...... .. Hahahahaha you're totally funny Carlito 86 ! I think it's because you watch a lot about the Italian mafia like Goodfellas or Soprano series .... .. well , Again...everything you discover about Platini I've known him since 2003 more or less this ........ .. But recently I've been watching more of his games... back in France at Nancy and at Saint Etienne years It's cool that French commentators always mention Platini's idolatry by Edson Arantes Pelé and Johan Cruyff... they mention Pelé's great plays in the 1970 World Cup and the 1974 Cruyff's World Cup that Michel Platini deliberately tries to replicate, copy, and repeat the same plays on French pitches. ... sometimes He did it really .. with great brilliance ... .. for the ambition of Saint Etienne's project to win a European Champions Cup or UEFA Cup..... But unfortunately the project foundered at an international level to win major Titles . Platini scored a goal from midfield Long Shots .... The good thing about Michel Platini he tried a lot Long Shots and Shoots from Distance because of Pelé's influence in his life and finishing skills with curved shots Cruyff-style Lob Goals... ... .. Another good thing... is that he wasn't extremely dependent on scoring only penalty goals like Maradona, Baggio and Ronaldinho Gaucho. Johnny Rep Larios Paolo Rossi ...etc;;etc.. shared the penalties goals with Michel....Platini .... so it's good to learn to live and work without too many penalty goals
yes , I agree with you dear Mate ! You really have to investigate the true facts and do your research.
.... The motto of the Royal Society of London is "Nullius in verba," which means "take no one's word for it" in Latin. This motto reflects the organization's commitment to basing knowledge on experiment and evidence, rather than relying solely on authority.
I rate ... 8 ## Michel Platini ...and ..9## Johan Cruyff Of all time . "! it is neck To neck really on my view .. " ! I can add... Diego Armando Maradona , Moreno , Zico e Didi Folha Seca .. continues from being ... neck To neck Battle ... at all . "!
Pls continue research on his deeds in uefa cup and cup winners' cup as well.also his goal contribution wrt team goals.
As much as I love Der Kaiser, I don't agree with him being placed that high! He was always a 9/10 level player and never reached 10/10. always consistently great, but not the best. Tbh, I don't rate players who weren’t efficient in the final third. Final third maestros are better!
Just finished to (re)watch two historical amistosos from 1981: England vs Brazil (0-1) and France vs Brazil (1-3). Maybe those two plays being friendlies makes them a bit deceptive (and too bad Platini was not on the pitch in the latter one), but I have to say at the end of the day I went under the very very clear impression that Zico was undoubtedly and by a large margin the best player in the world back then (and Eder was likely second best). French NT player looked no more than amateurs in comparison. And I am talking of the team that ended up getting 4th place at WC82 just one year later. Amateurs in front of artists. Zico is the most underrated player ever, not Platini. The most elegant and the most underrated.
.... .. yes , Zico is in my official Top 25 Of all time ! ... rating Zico as ## Top - 18 ...- Of all time not that much bad on my view ..at All ... I'm leaving out players like JUan Alberto Schiaffino Hector Scarone Pedro Virgilio Rocha Hidegkuti Nandor Jozsef Bozsik Zizinho Zagallo Mario Wolf Ademir de Menezes Mario Alberto Kempes Cubillas Teo Luis Suarez Miramontes Gianni Rivera Angel Di Maria Pedernera Czibor Stanley Matthews Duncan Edwards Leonidas da Silva Carlos Alberto Torres etc..etc..etc..etc..etc..
He were seen as his team's best player above Gerd Müller who were scoring goals as there weren't tomorrow. Because of his influence in all phases of the game. What he did were never seen before and since then. I don't know what more he is supposed to do to be considered an ATG player. He won 3 CLs, an euro and a world cup all being his team best player
..... ... I'll say more German National Team from 1966 to 1976... it was really cool and enjoyable to watch the entire matches with the tactical scheme with several defensive liberos... Franz Beckenbauer the more famous and Elegant on the Field Vogts Berti Breitner Paul Horst-Dieter Höttges and Hans-Georg Schwarzenbeck .... .. with 3 attackers or 4 attackers up front ... ... for me... People talk a lot about the Netherlands in 1974... but Germany ...60's 70's was also quite revolutionary tactically speaking .
... .. on Gerd Muller vs .Franz Beckenbauer it is extremely harder to answer to you correctly ..this question ..on my view ,, ! for example 1972 FRanz Beckenbauer ..== Ballon d'Or Gunter Netzer ............. == German Footballer of the Year Gerd .Muller ...== Soulier d'Or Netzer Gerd Muller == Ballon d'Argent drawned ... only .. 2 points behind Beckenbauer ,. Cruyff == Ballon D'Bronze only 8 points behind ...Beckenbauer ..
.... ... To help you ...in your researching my dear Mate .. ! have .. Shoots from Distance Dribbling skills .... some rare plays .. Passing skills .... some rare plays .. !
... well, Frank 1973 , you think so very very Equal to the ex-player called the Old Vampeta ... i like Vampeta's Ranking List ..yes . He reminds always on Zico , Johan Cruyff and Michel Platini ... even to Vampeta ... sometimes ... He thinks so Zico Of being better than Pelé .;; or on the same Level at Least
..... .. The best French generation of all time was definitely the generation from 1996 to 2006 it was a very complete and experienced squad at that time. This generation of Platini was always full of ups and downs. As I told you before... I have examples of the entire games against Italy 1978 friendly against Brazil 1977 and 1978 . France did not suffer historic defeats by miracles, good lucky and performances Of Michel Platini , Henri Michel , Didier Six and M. Tresor as a Libero ... .... .. they saved France from being totally humiliated by Brazil in 1977.. 78 ..and Italy 1978 friendly .. It was a very unstable generation like Gullit and Van Basten years for Holland ... ups and downs always .. ! .. ...... The KOpa generation... Piantoni, Fontaine, Jonquet, Muller... Vincent was better or at Least on the same Level ... at all . "!
@babaorum @PDG1978 @Wiliam Felipe Gracek @Isaías Silva Serafim @ffff15 @SayWhatIWant Michel Platini at Juventus – The Definitive Compilation After binge watching almost every single Michel Platini video on YouTube from full match compilations with all his touches to Juventus highlights between 1982/83 and 1986/87 I decided to put together something amazing. For the benefit of myself and other forum members I’ve put together what I believe to be the single most comprehensive compilation of Michel Platini’s time at Juventus. The video runs for about 21 minutes and features roughly 200 clips My final judgement isn’t that Michel Platini is just a top 5 all timer it’s that he has a genuine case for being the highest peak level performer I have ever watched And this is coming from someone who openly supports Cristiano Ronaldo and usually has a pretty critical view of older generation players. But after diving deep into Platini’s games, highlights, and overall influence, I can’t deny what I’ve seen. I can’t lie At his best, he reached a level that very few if any have ever matched. I’ll also add this here, even if it’s not directly related that I partially take back some of the negative comments I’ve made about Paolo Rossi. While he definitely wasn’t the most clinical finisher he was actually a world class dribbler and a very very good crosser of the ball. So that’s my final judgment on the player in question, and unless I somehow come across a substantial amount of footage from Platini’s time in France, I won’t be making any more videos on him. I feel like this project already covers everything that needed to be shown His goals, creativity and overall genius are all there in full and no stone has been left unturned.
the own Michel Platini .... ... agree with you dear Mate ! ... Platini says: playing for French clubs Platini has said several times this in public that French clubs lacked more professional and high-level infra-structure .. French football in the Platini's era reminds me a lot of the rural fields varzeas in Brazil a touch of amateurism ... I mean It doesn't mean a lack of technical quality But rather a lack of champion infrastructure and professional regime , highly rigid without drinks, etc.etc. .... .. Platini said : that at Saint Etienne it was the same imagine on the other french teams " professional clubs in that age " Saint Etienne was runners up from the older European Champions Cup 1975/1976 season .. ..... Platini said at Juventus... everything was perfect it was a matter of adapting to the greater demands of Italian football.
Platini or Diego Maradona or Cruyff or Zico for you ???? What do you think so about them after all ???
To be fair, Giresse, Rocheteau and Battiston were also missing. France had a mediocre year. The late 70's/early 80's French team was quite unconsistent, 'unstable' as you said. But so was Kopa's team. That was not the case between 1982 and 1986 however. The team became quite consistent and better balanced then, with the addition of a very reliable GK (Bats), a hard-working midfielder (Luis Fernandez) and with the building of a very solid backline.
