February 5 is your birthday, Mr. Guppy.

It's the one day per year I hope you don't get fired!

February 6... I'm ok with it.

But not on your birthday, big guy!

    Here's your cake!

    Hey Nowak,

If Wilt was such a great GM, how's come no one has hired him?

You don't think the other owners had a say in it?

You don't think the fact that he's involved brought in some of those "other owners" in the first place?

C'mon now... I know this thread's gonna get sarcastic anyway...but there's no reason to reach that far just to bring up Peter Wilt...especially in John Guppy's birthday thread. ;)

C'mon. Are you saying getting fired by the Fire, failing to get a team in Milwaukee and then getting involved in a girls league destined to fail is a good career move, I've got a stadium in Bridgeview IL I want to sell you!!!

BTW, it is also Carlos Tevez's, Christiano Ronaldo's, Gheorge Hagi, Sven Goran Erickson and Rodrigo Palacio.

    A great day for soccer.

Well I hate to defend OPB, because he seems like just about the biggest jackass ever to grace the earth. But, I actually do think he's asking a legitimate question.

Yes, Peter was focussed on the Milwaukee MLS project, and he's had the woman's team to occupy his time.

But I think he's said himself he is interested in getting back involved with MLS and has also said he's been consulted by other expansion groups for various different things.

I'm not saying he wasn't a great GM. I think he was. But it's kind of strange that he appears not to have been offered another GM job in the league. It does make me wonder.

How do you know he hasn't? Maybe he has. Why would we know?

I completely agree with this. OPB is a jackass.

I gave Guppy a one way ticket to Heathrow for his birthday. I'll be very upset if he regifts it.

If you were selling Toyota Park, I'd buy it from you in an instant, because I know you'd severely undervalue it.

Peter Wilt is the greatest GM this league has ever had...and if every team had a Peter Wilt clone since 98'...the league would be much more successful today...of coarse, cloning has'nt been perfected yet...so a few of the Wilt clones would be a bit deranged, and you always have that one boneless clone...but, still, MLS would still be better off.

    Happy Birthday JAG!!!
