Kappa: I thought you said that Hapoel is a club that thinks they are big, but are really not. My friend in Givatim said they are 2nd in league titles and domestic cups to Maccabbi...not bad.

They might not have the money or talent to be the Manure of the league, but hey they have at least won some trophies.

Im not contending that there not good! They are. They are one of the biggest clubs in Israel right now!

    This is the stadings!
    T. G. P.
    Bnei-Yehuda 9 16
    Maccabi Haifa 9 15
    Maccabi TA 8 15
    M.S. Ashdod 9 14
    Hapoel Beer-Sheva 9 14
    Hapoel TA 8 12
    Bnei Sachnin 9 12
    Maccabi Natanya 9 11
    Maccabi PT 9 10
    Beitar Jerusalem 9 8
    Hapoel PT 8 6
    Ahi Natzrat 8 2

Right now they are in 6th place. Which is not good and its pure midtable. They have a lot of talent, but there days are outnumbered. Where happened in the summer for Hapoel is really significant. Many players left and many players wanted money for money they didn't get. It was a mix up. In the end, good players like Yossi Abuksis, and there foreign legions just walked out..they had nothing..and most new players are either hard to adapt or still adapting. THey have alot of cups and alot of history...but this year is not good for them.

Especially when there coach is narrow-minded on only defence. Many of there games were ties as well!!!!
They started to lose a little too!

    I understand.

Thanks for clearing that up. So they are just like my friends beloved Liverpool, a club of great history but very average right now and NOT playing attractive football.

    Re: I understand.

The team is virtually depleted. All there good players went to some other team.

here are some names that left:
Ben Luz - Went to Bnei Yehuda Tel Aviv
Offir Azzu - Went to Beitar Jerusalem
Yossi Abuksis - Went to Ashdod
Pini Balili - Went to Istanbousour
Istavan Pishton - Went back home to hungary
Sergei Clashenko - ?? I think he is in Maccabi.
Asi Domb - Left to Bney Yehuda

And then there were disputes with some other players like Shimon Gershon, Shavit Elimelech and so on..

They did have some new faces but the only good face that i think was worth to mention is Yossi Rosen who came from Hapoel Petach Tikva. I think he can really lead this team, cause all the leaders have gone elsewhere.....

A long time ago, especially in the 2001/2002 UEFA CUP RUN they had a good chance cause there team is determined. It was luck, but it was also a passion. Now they don't have nothing of that!

    Re: Standings

those standings were from Round 8 or 9.
Either way, i wanted to show Catfish that Hapoel is mid table 6th place...and they are still now!

Hey Catfish, Liverpool is playing much more attractive footie than Red Card FC. They have just run into a lot of bad luck.

    Re: Re: I understand.

Offir Azo never was at Hapoel Tel-Aviv. He was at Hapoel Jerusalem as a youth and then on their full team.

The Shavit Elimelech story keeps on going as he claims that Hapoel Tel-Aviv still owe him a large some of monies.

Red Card FC are those thugs the Arse. Arsenal are looking as exciting as Manure at the moment. Chelsea is the only team that is playing attractive football in the Premiership. The EPL has gone downhill. Watching it now is like watching grass grow.

    What the???

Chelsea barely beat Leicester City (2-1...and the first goal for Chelsea was an own goal by Leicester) and also Southampton (1-0)! Did Chelsea beat Arsenal? NO! If the Premiership isn't the best or most exciting league, then what pray tell is?

The Bundesliga, simple as that. The Argentine league is good at the moment too. It doesn't matter who scores goals. Winning isn't as exciting as something that looks good. The Premiership doesn't look good this year. It certainly did last year. Arsenal was fun to watch. Man U was surprisingly fun to watch for once. Newcastle and Liverpool too. Now 2/3 of the three teams that have a chance are dull.

    Hold on!

The Bundesliga has a few good clubs (Stuttgart, Bremen, BVB, Bayer Leverkusen) and lots of average (Bayern Munich is playing very ordinary football) to garbage sides.

I know last season was more exciting, but we have a 3 horse race right now and it isn't even 1/2 way thru the season.

I know it's not 1/2 through but I just don't have much hope for it. I just think that things are a little predictable at the moment. I do have sour grapes over my teams performance, but come on, I fell in love with EPL two years ago, when Arsenal won the championship and Liverpool came in second. What has happened to that Arsenal? Where did that Liverpool go? This season has just been a let down. The EPL is still better than say, the French or Dutch leagues. I think the Bundesliga is awesome this year because Bayern isn't even a contender. You have new contenders. Yes, it's still basically the same good teams, but we're seeing a change of the guard, especially when it comes to Stuttgart, my longtime German team.

This thread doesn't belong here. I'm not sure where it does belong (is there a "Moronic pub arguments" forum?), but I know it's not here...
