Im watching on http://www.futbolarg.com/rd/7408.html Its in spanish. I dont think even the most optimistic fan of Hapoel could've predicted this. 3-1 on the road is awesome. Even though Im not a fan of any team, but a fan of Israeli Football overall, HAPOEL! HAPOEL!
my pleasure. schecter scored the third. hapoel are guaranteed qualification at this point, in my opinion. schecter also received a yellow card for putting on a kippah as his goal celebration. kind of odd.
Definitely not guaranteed but an excellent result. The worrying part was when Hapoel let them have possession and run at the defence (which resulted in the penalty) Salzburg now need two goals at least. I think their penalty was there but the ref carded Zahavi instead of Kanade. Sahar and Shechter are very dangerous. Also, I hope they aren't going to miss anyone from yellow cards for the home leg.
Salzburg wanted a penalty kick in the 89th minute but weren't given it. During the end of the game that I watched, Salzburg had more possession but didn't score. Salzburg 2-3 Hapoel Tel Aviv (Final) http://en.uefa.com/uefachampionslea...t/index.html#hapoel+leave+salzburg+staggering is titled "Hapoel stagger Salzburg without knockout blow." It says Hapoel Tel Aviv had 7 shots on target and Salzburg had 3.
Using my formula found on my BigSoccer blog to convert odds into probabilities, here are the second leg probabilities from the Bet365 odds: Hapoel Tel Aviv win: 47.9% Draw: 26.8% Salzburg win: 25.3%
Shechter is now injured and most probably will not play in the return leg http://www.haaretz.com/print-edition/sports/soccer-double-disappointment-1.309426
Shechter is a big loss, in retrospect Gutman looks stupid playing him in this league game but it's just bad luck. Lala could've been a good option to replace him but he is also injured, so now they just have Ben Sahar up top. Even so Hapoel should still go through. If Hapeol beat them over there on that plastic pitch, there's no way I see them losing at Bloomfield with the crowd in full force and the terrible Israeli heat.
I don't think so, Hapoel have barely played him. They may just go with 5 midfielders with Sahar up top which might not be too bad considering they need to hold the lead rather than score (though it is dangerous to play like that).
Shechter did not tear a muscle and may actually play after all, although this is not certain If I were Hapoel, I would bring him off the bench just in case and not start him as a precaution. Shivhon is suspended due to yellow cards, Lala is out due to injury and Sahar also has a niggle but will play. Hapoel really need to invest in some more players because their squad is really small. They are depending on few and don't really have much depth from the bench, especially with these players out.

Zahavi!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and into the Champions League Full time: 1-1 (Hapoel Tel Aviv wins 4-3 on aggregate)
I doubt Hapoel Tel Aviv will make the Round of 16 but being in Pot 3 rather than Pot 4 for the Group Stage draw will make it more likely Hapoel Tel Aviv can get third and maybe more points from the Europa League Round of 32. To be in Pot 3 for the Group Stage draw, we need three of the following to happen: Auxerre advances over Zent St. Petersburg tomorrow (Zent won first leg 1-0 at home) Young Boys advance over Tottenham tomorrow (Young Boys won first leg 3-2 at home) Rosenborg advances over Copenhagen tomorrow (Rosenborg won first leg 2-1 at home) Partizan advances over Anderlecht (in extra time now, both clubs have two home goals and two away goals, Anderlecht is hosting today so if both clubs score the same additional amount of goals Partizan will advance on away goals) Edit: Partizan won penalty kicks 3-2 to eliminate Anderlecht.
Nice!!! Was watching Peñarol play against Real, but really proud. This has to help with the coefficient and will bring a lot of money into the club
Congrats to Hapoel! I don't know why they played so nervous today, they were in a good position coming into the game so they didn't need to be so cautious, it almost cost them but at least they went through. I think if Hapoel want to compete in the group stage and not fall apart with the extra fixtures they need to add at least 2-3 more players to their squad. They definitely need to replace Kanda with a better RB and buy another striker to take the load off of Shecter and Sahar, and possibly another midfielder.
