3 Mar Royal Antwerp vs St Truiden 10:00 EST Not on ESPN + St. Truiden is playing well, and I would not be surprised if they defeated Antwerp. This one should be a good match. Suzuki should get the start.

Highlights from Club Brugge match start at 9:20 The goal was not Suzuki's fault at all. The St. Truiden defense simply melted away.
Was on the bench last night for the U23 match with the US and Japan. He might be on the move this summer. St. Truiden has set the price somewhere between 6 and 8 million Euros. Reported clubs of interest include Genoa and Manchester United.
He started 10 matches for the full Japanese NT so far, and he is only 21. 32 starts for St Truden last season. Not bad. The major issues seems to be one big mistake each match that at times in punished. Good shortstopping, decent with his feet. I think he would fit in well with the younger keepers at the US has, but he has committed himself to Japan.
Zion Suzuki to Parma is official. The Italian press release says he was born in Newark, NJ while the English version says Little Rock (as reported elsewhere), so maybe there was a ChatGPT snafu that made it in there somewhere.
He's already the starting keeper for my YA Greatest Names team, and he'll be lining up with El Yam Kancepolsky, Louicius Don Deedson, and Dontavious Fleming, among others.
Suzuki made his Serie A debut yesterday for Parma against Fiorentina (Amir Richardson bench). Six saves in a 1-1 draw. But he's in the Asia forum for some reason.
Highlight reel here. Good debut including launching the long ball that led to Parma's goal, only marred by a hand ball error which led to the equalizing free kick for Fiorentina.
How about moving this to the main forum under Hammin' It Up Between The Sticks: Zion Suzuki at Parma ? @dark knight @bungadiri @TheFalseNine
CBS/Paramount's coverage chose to focus on Suzuki leading up to, and after today's 2-1 win over Milan. His English is solid! Preview interview “To play in this league for me is fantastic… I want to be a memorable player in this club.” 🥹American born Japanese GK Zion Suzuki catches up with @IFTVMarco to reflect on his Parma debut, his golf game, and gives us a sneak peak of his dance moves 🕺 pic.twitter.com/GU1Z9a3I51— CBS Sports Golazo ⚽️ (@CBSSportsGolazo) August 24, 2024 Postmatch interview Individual highlights
I saw enough in the Parma match to de like damn…. Zion is the best YA GK right now. Shame he’s cap-tied! also…. side note…. Thought CBS Crew knocked their coverage out of the park for their first time on the big channel. Really good coverage. I want to see more.
It's one game. He had the same psxg+/- in Belgium last year as Gaga Slonina, but because he got sold instead of loaned, he's gotten a lot better opportunity. And obviously Turner's better than both on the whole. Domestically, we got a bunch of guys doing decent to good. Hard to compare cuz they've not been fully tested. Zion has the best oppportunity.
Was a pretty big error though – handling the ball outside the box – that essentially blew their chance for an away win.
It is one game. But that’s how low the bar has been set on American Gk’s. That’s how much confidence I don’t have in our pool. Sure…. it could change but that’s how it stands right now. Pretty crappy. Zion will be fun to keep an eye on this season..
There is a big upside play with Zion which helps his market value - he has a big, muscular frame with excellent diving range, but the thing that sets him apart is his ball skill. Very accurate and confident with his short passing, but notably he can deliver a low, fast ball to a teammate located almost anywhere on the field, sort of like Ederson. Parma's coach Fabio Pecchia has already designed their game plan around this - they can basically skip the whole build-up phase and create chances by having Zion boot long passes down the sidelines for their wingers, and they've already created a bunch of scoring opportunities this way in the 1st two matches.
