Shai Davidai now calling for the National Guard to come in and disperse the Columbia protestors. Well it's good that there is absolutely no precedent for anything bad happening in that exact scenario...
The irony is that these things are fantastically self-defeating. If we take as an example that that USC Valedictorian who was banned from making speech, is now instead finding a broader audience in CNN, CBS etc Sending national guard in will probably have a similar effect. If they actually do that, the risk is that the Palestinian cause will be mixed in with or "conflated" with things that the broader American audience will resonate more strongly with, such as free speech, freedom of assembly and protesting policies peacefully. The people that have initiated events that have led up to this, are ultimately just scoring own-goals.
This entire thing of this guy/newspaper is from your side and he says things that I agree with .... needs to die already. This is the same sh1t pro Russia people do. You know what people who no longer live in Iran say about Iran, no? To recap, before Oct 7th in broad strokes: HAMAS was capable of launching thousands of rockets at Israel HAMAS had a vast network of infrastructure in Gaza HAMAS had a tight grip on Gaza After all this ends none of the above will be true and while you are correct as HAMAS as an idea cannot be killed Israel destroyed every part of the organization so for at least 20 years HAMAS will not be as powerful as they were prior to this. And I don't think Israel will let them grow again. ISIS still exists but they will never reach the heights of 2014-2015 ever again So maybe for you a bunch of everyday people in Western countries being upset at Israel is a strategic defeat. The people being upset in USA sure as hell didn't stop Israel getting 26 billion (ok only 8.8 billion of that is weapons). Trump winning because people are upset at Biden sure as hell is not a bad thing for Israel either The only thing that it accomplished though is no Saudi Arabia and Israel alliance in our lifetimes probably.
I disagree with most of your points, but I do not rule out the possibility of Israel emerging out of this beneficially and finding itself in a place that is more to their advantage than pre-october 7. Given the aims Israel set out for itself and probable strategic/political environment it would find itself in (regionally and globally) after the dust settles, I deem it very unlikely though. But I could be wrong, only time will tell the answer.
What's the other 17.2 billion for? Kushner Kondos at Gaza? Biden wants a little accountability for Bibi's Gaza actions like nearly every other world leader does. Friends don't let friends use their bombs indiscriminately. And yes, fascists want other fascists in positions of power. We know how much Bibi liked Obama.
$9 billion providing humanitarian relief to people in Gaza $1 billion to enhance weapons production (within USA ...this helps Ukraine too) $4.4 billion for other defense supplies and services provided to Israel (USA reimbursing itself) $2.4 billion to US operations in the region amid the Gaza war
Just to remind those who forgot: Today is the Memorial of the Armenian Genocide in the Netherlands and elsewhere on April 24th, the start of the genocide in 1915. It is held annually to commemorate the victims of the Armenian genocide of 1915. It was a series of massacres and starvation of 1.5 million Armenians by the Ottomans. It was an act of brutality on a people wanting independance.
Another day in Gaza, another strike taking out mostly children. https://thehill.com/policy/internat...n-gaza-kills-18-people-including-14-children/ Israeli strikes on southern Gaza kills 18 people, including 14 children
I'm sure they were dangerous by...starving to death and crowding and throwing rocks. And voting for Hamas. Can't forget that part.
'U.S. imposes sanctions on battalion of Israeli army' The United States is set to announce sanctions against an Israeli army battalion for human rights violations in the occupied West Bank. This is reported by the usually well-informed American news site Axios. It would be the first time the U.S. has imposed sanctions on an Israeli military unit. With the sanctions, the battalion, Netzah Yehuda, no longer receives any American support. Members are also no longer allowed to participate in training courses organized by the Americans. According to an Axios source, these are incidents that took place before the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7. The sanctions come on the basis of the 1997 Leahy Act. It states that it is forbidden for Americans to provide military aid and training to units that have committed human rights violations. The Netzah Yehuda Battalion is a special unit for ultra-Orthodox soldiers. About a thousand men are members. The unit is mainly stationed on the West Bank. The U.S. State Department began an investigation into the battalion in late 2022 after multiple military personnel were involved in several incidents of violence against Palestinian civilians. Civilians are also said to have been killed. But, but ....did hama .....
Israel defeat in the war in Gaza will become clear even to you once the fighting stops. Hamas fired (and, hence, depleted) 2-3 times the number of rockets at Israel it was even estimated to have. Its stockpiles being low and depleted now after firing rockets on almost a daily basis for months is no indication of Israeli military victory or success. As for tunnels, even Israel admits it had vastly underestimated Hamas' tunnel network. And that hundreds of kilometers of such tunnels are operational. Nor is the notion of Hamas no longer being in control of Gaza correct. Other than an IDF brigade controlling one of Israel's rare tangible military successes (namely the Salhuddin highway cutting Gaza in 2), the rest of Gaza is effectively under Hamas control. An effort by the PA under US/EU direction to send intelligence and security personnel into Gaza to pave the process for wrestling away control of Gaza from Hamas resulted in Hamas arresting the PA personnel and saw the rest go in hiding and fleeing Gaza. In the meantime, none of the even specific goals (never-mind delusional ones about destroying Hamas) set by Israel in this war have been met. My projection is that Hamas will be stronger, better equipped, and have far greater leverage against Israel in a few years once this war ends. Hamas' stockpile of weapons will be replenished and expanded close to the stockpile possessed by Hezbollah. Unless Israel manages to starve the people of Gaza to submission, and short of nuking Gaza, Israel is destined to lose this war on all fronts.
That is advanced level of delusion I have no notes the whole thing is so far detached from reality you might as well said Tel Aviv is about to be conquered by HAMAS
Mmmm, it's worse than that. The Gaza atrocities have given the term "anti-semitism" a real life foundation and with that a justification I pointed at months ago. The Mediaval superstitious child blood drinking Jews etc. narratives have now been replaced by real life dead fetuses in incubators, dead to pieces shred children bodies, dead children bodies with bullit wounds etc. A whole world that had no antisemitism simply are now in the by these images and other committed atrocities fuelled "new anti-semitism", = against Israeli brutality. It also affects the opinion of the younger generations in the western countries away from a positive view about Israel towards an indifferent or even negative one. Efforts made to label these feelings and opinions as "anti-semitic" only serve to erode the power of the term "anti-semitic" in it's true sense. And the old style anti-semits gladly use this opportunity to guide that sentiment towards Jews as a whole, not just the state Israel.
One of the 13 children from one family: A man holds the lifeless body of a girl who died after the bombing
israel manage yet again to kill a paramedic. They must have magnets on their bullets that only hit women, children or other specially protected civilians. Armed settlers shoot Palestinians. idf heroes turn up to save the day and out of all the armed settlers available to target for “accidental” murder, either they or the settlers manage to kill the Palestinian ambulance driver. What are the chances of that happening over and over and over again! This is all in the West Bank and shows what the root cause of all this conflict is - settler colonialism by a racist ethnocratic state. Jewish students get harassed trying to leave @Columbia’s campus tonight. You can hear someone yell “Yehudim Yehudim”- “Jews Jews.” They curse and yell “go back to Poland.” Antisemitism has become the new normal here. pic.twitter.com/U2Ii5GTuLm— David lederer (@Davidlederer6) April 21, 2024 This is disgusting behavior and yet still something I would expect a university to be able to handle without involving the NYPD. Though possibly you could argue that the most effective thresholds to nip this in the bud have already been exceeded.

If he had any authority to do so that might be newsworthy. But from what’s been said of him here (literally all I know about him) he’s just an academic with a particular axe to grind, so why are you giving him so much bandwidth?
You keep throwing in these little “I’m not a sociopath” asides to me but they don’t work when you continually post things like this. You’re not a moron, I don’t think, but in case you are, an attack like that causes a nation to spend a lot of money on a lot of things. Think back to 9/11. So your lame, lame, lame joke here implies corruption in Israel rather than actual needs caused by a terrorist attack. You are glibly erasing Israeli suffering. It’s gross. If it’s not sociopathy it’s anti Semitism. Choose your fighter I guess.
