I don’t really have a strong opinion either way but I think this is probably what happened.

    Let me try an analogy.

I don’t think Israel deliberately ran a car into someone.

I think Israel got drunk then took the car out for a drive at the excessive speed. They created a situation where tragic accidents are inevitable, even frequent.

And just to be clear I don’t think that absolves Israel in any way. I’m just questioning the intent.

Even if we say that's true, who is the regional superpower & Big Brother in this conflict? Y'all act like complete destruction was Bibi's only option. And they just blasted a well-known aid group. Israel's rep is now down there with OJ Simpson & Dahmer.

You really are a sociopath. You think this is a time for jokes because some NPCs died and you have a joke to make.

Intentionally causing a famine is more than merely a grave error. This is the fastest a population has gone to the edge of famine ever.

The sell by date for this has passed. 10/7 doesn’t excuse the obvious recklessness of the IDF.

He isn’t an Israel excuser. He’s a contrarian who points out perceived flaws in others arguments, and sometimes he’s right.

Do you mean at the operational level? That I agree with. The facts are clear.

Or do you mean at the strategic level? That’s where I have lots of doubts.

Recklessness has a legal definition: conscious disregard of known risks, which fits at least some IDF activity.

The next level of culpability is intentional action, which can and is frequently proven by circumstantial evidence.

Know how we know they were targeted? Bibi's crocodile tears but him also saying "hey - shit happens in a war zone, people"

The party that controls all the levers of power is somehow helpless at the same time.

Israel (with a few brigades remaining in Gaza) does not have enough troops on the ground to fight an urban war, defeat Hamas militarily, much less control Gaza and deal with the ensuing insurgency. Even when it did a few months ago, it chose not to engage in that kind of war to avoid large casualties. Israel strategy has been siege warfare. It wants to control the main exit/entry points in south Gaza as it does for the most part in the north and to make sure all supplies (including food and water) are cut off/sufficiently diminished to eventually force Hamas out of its tunnels and bunkers. It is within that context that you see these actions (e.g. the strike against the WCK vehicle) by Israel and the rest is simply propaganda by its supporters.

In the meantime, it is almost certain that in the next few days there will be direct Iranian strikes against Israel in retaliation for Israel's attack on Iran's consular annex in Damascus killing 13 people (7 Iranian officers including 2 high ranking IRGC generals and 6 Syrian support personnel). While the US has refused to condemn Israel's action, it has distanced itself from it and basically merely focused its warnings to Iran at the UNSC on not attacking US troops and bases in any retaliatory action.

It wasn’t the only option, but it was the obvious one. Though they have executed it particularly badly.

Superdave’s been as close to right down the middle as anybody I’ve seen on this thread. Maybe he’s expressing a superficially pro-Israel point on this particular issue, but it’s gone the other way as well (on this page even).

3 vehicles, 3 precision bombs. Not like it was 1 that was hit collaterrally on a strike on another target.

The omission of Israel in that warning was telling. Expect Iran to hit Israel hard without US retaliation
