With friends like this.... https://www.jpost.com/middle-east/article-854726 According to the Jordanian education system, treachery is a “natural Jewish quality,” and the peace agreement was signed “in order to curb Israel’s known greedy aspirations.” The Institute for Monitoring Peace and Cultural Tolerance in School Education (IMPACT-se) released findings in May 2025 showing that Jordanian textbooks contain antisemitic messaging, glorification of violent jihad, and hostile rhetoric toward Jews and Israel—despite simultaneously claiming to promote tolerance and religious moderation. The report examined 294 textbooks from Jordan's national curriculum covering the 2023-2025 academic years across subjects, including Islamic Education, Arabic Language, Social Studies, National and Civic Education, History, and Geography. The study identified pervasive antisemitic content that perpetuates harmful stereotypes about Jewish people. A Grade 9 Islamic Education textbook explicitly teaches that "treachery and violation of agreements are some of the traits of the Jews and their natural qualities." This characterization presents negative traits as inherent to Jewish identity rather than examining historical contexts or individual actions. Economic antisemitism also features prominently in the curriculum. Islamic Education materials claim that Jews "controlled the economy" of ancient Medina through "exploitation" and usury, requiring Muhammad's intervention to save "Muslim society from the Jews' control over the economy." Such narratives reinforce dangerous stereotypes about Jewish economic influence and control. Particularly troubling is the curriculum's treatment of the Holocaust. Despite covering World War II, textbooks conspicuously omit any mention of the Holocaust or other Nazi atrocities. Instead, the materials appear to excuse Nazi Germany's actions as a response to "humiliating sanctions" imposed by the Treaty of Versailles, effectively minimizing one of history's greatest genocides. It's no wonder some people love to throw around "Nazi" terminology when proper history is not taught.
This article is pretty garbage but there is a section that I found pretty telling if you know how to read between the lines. I.E. we need to do this or else the game is up with Western support. Let's make the smallest of concessions so we can continue the genocide without losing the world opinion. https://www.timesofisrael.com/liveb...ntry-of-minimum-aid-in-gaza-wont-reach-hamas/ However, while stopping aid for two and a half months “created very great pressure on Hamas and this is good,” such pressure “needs to be moderated so that it does not explode in our faces,” Smotrich explains, arguing that doing so is necessary “to dispel the lies of starvation.” Under new arrangements that he insisted upon, he says, an alternate private mechanism will oversee the entry of the “minimum necessary… supply of food and medicines” for the Gaza populace, which will ensure “that the world does not stop us and accuse us of war crimes.” His comments run counter to officials who say the aid will be distributed by mechanisms previously in place until the new system is up and running. “It will allow civilians to eat, for our friends in the world to continue to provide us with an international umbrella of protection against the Security Council and The Hague Tribunal, and for us to continue to fight, God willing, until victory,” Smotrich states.
When I was in eighth grade we spent an entire semester learning about the Holocaust. It's exactly because of that and my experience reading about the Nazi Regime (really recommend The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich by William Shirer) that I can safely call what Israel is doing today to be the same exact thing that Hitler wanted for the German people i.e. "lebensraum". You seem to be a pretty reasonable person, just know that you have too much skin in the game to look at what has been done to the Palestinian people objectively. The American Manifest Destiny genocide, the German Jewish genocide, and know the Israeli Palestinian genocide all share the same elements---> Removing people from land who are different from the group that is doing the removing, the dehumanization of Native Americans, Jewish people, and Palestinians, and the pure terror inflicted on people that you have dehumanized is EXACTLY the same.
If you look at it objectively, there are two elements to the Nazi genocide of European Jewry. There is the systematic oppression of the German Jews during the interwar years, 1933 to 1939, with blatant discrimination against German Jews, their roundup into camps, their economic and political subjugation, and sporadic outbursts of systematic and organised violence such as Kristallnacht. Then there was the Final Solution stage in the lead up to and aftermath of the Wannsee conference when you had einsatzgruppen roaming continental Europe and death trains going to the concentration camps. Netanyahu and his government have by all objective measures exceeded the Nazis in their treatment of the Jews during the interwar period. They haven’t approached the horrific total extermination postwar stage yet, but they aren’t fighting a war of existence yet either. I have little doubt that when they do, these people in charge of the regime wouldn’t hesitate to engage in extermination of vast swathes of “Arabs”. If the israelis don’t want to be compared to pre-1939 Nazis they should stop behaving like them.
Not that this is going to change anything or change anyone's opinion (god forbid), and as little as I want to engage in this whole asinine and downright offensive comparison to what the Nazis have done, but it must be said that one convenient "little" detail is left out. What has been done to the Jews post 1948 in Israel. Had there been any, ANYTHING that would suggest that the Jews in Europe exhibited similar attitudes and behaviors and actions to what the Arabs and the Palestinians have been doing to the Jews of Israel, I might want to try and have a discussion. Given none of this is going to happen, I'll move on. Un********ingreal!
I'll bold the important part. Do we want to discuss: 1) HOW the Israelis have been terrorized since 1948 (I'll ignore what had been happening to Jews pre-1948 in Palestine for the sake of this argument); and 2) How the Jews have been dehumanized by its neighbors? (you did see the article I linked above and that's just the most recent example)? It's really convenient how everyone is so quick to forget (willfully or not) to how the other side operates? Not once has anyone really brought up the history of Jews and Israel since 1948. But yes, it's EXACTLY the same as the Holocaust.
Not every apple looks the same, but they are still apples nonetheless. Not every genocide or fascist regime is going to act on the same timeline, with the same type of force, but nonetheless they are still fascist regimes committing genocide. What you call un********ingreal is an opinion that is shared with me by various world leaders and people all over the globe. I'm sorry for the cognitive dissonance this must bring you.
https://www.aa.com.tr/en/middle-eas...n-gaza-surpasses-that-of-world-war-ii/3239665 Article is from last April. Israel has dropped more than 70,000 tons of bombs on the Gaza Strip since last October, far surpassing the of Dresden, Hamburg, and London combined during World War II. I wonder if they've surpassed how many bombs America dropped on Vietnam yet.
Sadly, too many idiots including in this forum can't differentiate Palestinians from Hamas. Despite Hamas deserving of retribution, this does not justify collective punishment upon the entire Palestinian population being carried put by the genocidal, evil and inhuman Israeli government. They are guilty of genocide, ethnic cleansing and barbaric crimes against humanity - same goes to any government supporting & enabling the actions of those monsters That's a stain that will be carried by most of the West for generations to come and this will contribute to its decline.
My only point was that I am glad to see Palestinians have the courage to stand up to Hamas, irrespective of Israel.
There's no need to bring up the Netanyahu-Hitler comparison to judge the actions of Israel and its leaders as barbaric, meeting the definition of war crimes, or even crimes against humanity and—increasingly certainly—genocide. There have been genocides before and after the Nazis. No country, no people, placed in a certain context, is immune from a fatal chain reaction leading to genocide. Unfortunately, Western countries will be judged very harshly for not knowing how or wanting to stop this process.
That's way too late. That should have happened way before. These countries - and others - have so far failed in their legal obligation to intervene to prevent the risk of genocide which they had been alerted about for over a year, as defined by the Convention on the prevention and punishment of the crime of genocide.
Brussels supports government with investigation into Israel: 'Strong signal' After the Dutch request, there will now be an official European investigation into Israel's violation of humanitarian law. Foreign Minister Caspar Veldkamp (NSC) has received enough support in Brussels to tighten the screws on the Netanyahu government. Part of the Dutch House of Representatives wants even more sanctions. The European Commission will formally investigate whether Israel is complying with agreements on human rights. After the meeting of EU foreign ministers, Minister Caspar Veldkamp (NSC) reported in Brussels on Tuesday that a majority of the EU member states support his initiative: "This is a very important and powerful signal," Veldkamp said. "We did not vote on this, but it is a clear majority of countries that support the Dutch proposal. Now we as the EU are giving a clear signal, we are serious." To enforce such a European investigation, Veldkamp needed the support of enough EU member states, a majority was needed. For a moment it seemed that that would not work, but in the end France, Spain, Finland, Sweden and Ireland, among others, rallied behind Veldkamp.
The West is still ruling the world, they'll never judge themselves, just look at those centuries of slavery and colonialism behind downplayed by those in charge. Nothing last forever and whenever another block will be at the top, that's when the blame and historical shame will truly hit home
The rest of the West acted as enablers via diplomatic relationship, trading which kept that monstrosity of a regime legitimized until it became untenable
Agreed. What has Macron done for Gaza so far? Nothing. (Or rather, he did send weapons to Israel). Macron's France supports the two-state solution but doesn't recognize the independence of Palestine! One could almost laugh at it, but it's not funny. Now that stories and images of starving Palestinian children are "polluting" the internet too much, Macron talks and talks, and is outraged. however, has he announced any specific and targeted sanctions against the Israeli government? No. Has he mentioned French recognition of Palestine? No. Will the joint statement France, Canada, UK will lead to anything? Perhaps, but nothing is certain. What will Brussels actually do? ....... And I must add that in France too, when we (citizens, politicians) call for a ceasefire, for an end to the massacre of innocent Palestinians, we are still and always treated as anti-Semites. Unbearable. This is the line of discourse of the extreme right-wing medias, constantly repeated, and there are more and more of them in France.
An excellent article from the newspaper "Liberation" (but in french) explaining why Europe actually has no effective leverage, something the Israeli government knows perfectly well. And it concludes: only the interruption of American military aid could force Netanyahu to back down. https://www.liberation.fr/internati...0520_NGD7QLYH2ZBHRMZEBVDXJVO2YU/?redirected=1
Last month, France allowed Netanyahu's plane to fly over its airspace, after two previous authorized passages in February, despite an arrest warrant from the International Criminal Court...
With caveat that the article has a bunch of ad blocking/login pop ups that I can't translate and so can't read. The EU has a ton of leverage: they can impose sanctions, arms export bans, travel bans, enforce ICC arrest warrants, and deny overflight.
