Anyone wondering where Haitian international Eliphene Cadet is and why he's not with Aigle Noir, he's not with Aigle Noir since he is on loan deal to ASC for 15 games and after he will return to Aigle Noir.

    Eliphene Cadet, player in yellow

-ASC bought Eliphene Cadet. They are trying to bring Roosvelt Desir along from FICA(second division). They are buying alot more younger players.

-Baltimore SC has played their first game at the new Stadium at St Marc. Indeed, all the new stadiums are ready now both in Gonaives and Okap.

The trade of Eliphene Cadet angered the Aigle Noir supporters especially since the CFU Club tournament is coming but the forward interested ASC. Aigle Noir's boss, Emmanuel Cantave asked for $20,000 and eventually negotiated a deal to send the Haitian national team striker to the Cap Haitien club.

Aigle Noir already signed Gabriel Michel and they are waiting to sign a couple other international strikers coming back to the league such as Roody Lormera(Argentina, Honduras), Brunel Fucien(Argentina, Chile, Spain, Portugal) and offensive midfielder Richardson Ulcenat(Roulado, Florida.)

The 2006 CFU Youth Cup MVP Joseph Peterson scored for Aigle Noir this weekend. At only 15 years of age, Peterson is probably the youngest player in the club. The influential midfielder helped bring Haiti's U16 team to the CFU Youth Cup finals last month as well as qualifying for next year's CONCACAF U17 Final Round.

Haitian International Alexandre Boucicaut, previously with the Chicago Fire (MLS), intends to sign with ASC after Eliphene Cadet had signed.

yeah i know, there's always a Caribbean zone tournament. what i can't understand is with the 6 CCC championships won by the Caribbean leagues' clubs how do they only get 1 bid? Guatefc, is this poll of yours even accurate because why would 3 bids be given to Central American clubs when the MFL only has 2?

This thread popped up on the main BigSoccer homepage.

I'm glad to hear that Haiti has an organized league. I know it's the main sport in the country but it must be hard to keep a league going with all the poverty, instability and poor transportation network.

Anyone willing to give a quick description of how the league works (how many teams, games, etc)?

well the league sponsor is Digicel, which also sponsors the 2007 Caribbean Nations Cup. (http://www.digicelhaiti.com/home/) It's a 16 team league with the same basic rules, highest team from the first division, in this case FICA, will move up to the Premier division next season.

Being a poor nation has little to do with the funding of national sports, Its the private sector that determines what happens in football at the national level, not the country's GDP.

They have or have had a former Brazilian coach coaching in the top division as well as a number of Brazilian and Latin American players currently in the league. And with Digicel signing a multi-million dollar contract with the FHF, more talent from Caribbean and Central American nations will try to ply their trade in the league.

    Digicel, From Traditions to Innovations

"Ever since Digicel and the Haitian football federation (FHF) have officially announced their partnership, Haitian football has taken a new direction.

Knowing that financial aid would not be sufficient in order to boost the Haitian football, lots of exiting entertainment for the matches have been scheduled.

Hundreds of football fans who came to the match opposing the Racing Club Haitien to the Don Bosco will never forget that afternoon. Not only the players showed lots of performance in their game, but the public highly praised the new features of the championship. The most emotional moment was the ritual of the flag, even the usual spectators of the stadium couldn’t remember when was the last time it occurred. The surprise of the day was the participation of the famous DJ Fanfan who kept the spirit up in the stadium, following that, groups like X-Men, Poly Dance and Data dance entertained the crowd during the breaks."

"By coming back with Haitian tradition, Digicel has proven on the week end of March 31/April 2nd 2006, that football in Haiti is taking a new turn."

Parc Levelt, the newly built stadium in St. Marc, Haiti will be hosting its first international friendly on wednesday, September 13th as Haiti NT will be hosting Dominican Republic in preparations for the 2006 CFU Digicel Cup. Parc Levelt is also the home stadium to the Ouverture 2005-06 Champions, Baltimore SC.

I don't think the lineups been given out yet, but it looks like the national team will be using most of their league players, here are some players i'm guessing that'll be among the starting lineup for the 2 friendlies.

Rood Kelly Jean (Aigle Noir), Jean Sony Alcenat (Aigle Noir), Eliphène Cadet (ASC), Alexandre Boucicaut (ASC), Pierre-Roland St Jean (Baltimore SC), Peter Germain (Baltimore SC), Serge Louis (Baltimore SC), Junior Lomera (Roulado), Bruny Pierre-Richard (Don Bosco), Fénélon Gabart (Racing Club Haitien)

Quick question: does Eagle Noir have some sort of Spanish connection or Spanish-speaking connection?
I ask because on the HaitiFoot website, under the Haiti league champions, they have them listed as both Eagle Noir and Aguila Negra.
Thanks in advance for any info!

well that makes sense because Haiti has much stronger ties with countries like Dominican Republic and Cuba then they do with most of the English speaking countries. In Haiti, you'll find some people that know Spanish as their third language, after Creole and French.

Haitian Under-21 International Jean Baptiste Fritzson made a superb header in the 16th minute to lead Aigle Noir to a 1-0 win over Victory last saturday. They'll be a team to watch in the upcoming Caribbean qualification tournament for the 2007 CONCACAF Champions' Cup.

Baltimore SC continues to struggle while this season is still in its beginning phase. They have only 1 point in their first 3 matches and have yet to score a goal this season. A late goal by Pierre Edwing (82') gave Tempête FC a stunning road win in front of a shocked Parc Levelt crowd last saturday in St. Marc. Baltimore SC meets up with Dynamite FC next in Parc Levelt.

AS Carrefour deprives Roulado of the league leader position

    AS Carrefour

Many Haitian Internationals as well as key players will be missing from their respective clubs as the CFU Digicel Cup kicks off for Haiti next week in Jamaica. Many players were missing this week's action due to national team training. Last wednesday at Parc Edouard Baker in Carrefour, host AS Carrefour's 2-0 win deprived Roulado of a chance to take sole position of league first place. ASCAR, eager to please the home crowd, started slow against the Gonaviens but worked their way into the match with goals from Stanley Caseau and Corsican Jean-Baptist Elisca. With the win ASCAR moves up to the 7th spot while Roulado drops to 3rd.

To the league's surprise, Zenith FC moved from 5th spot to the new league leaders following their 3-0 home triumph over Aigle Noir at Parc Saint Victor in Cap-Haïtien.

Don Bosco retakes League First Place

The 7 league matches last weekend started an upheaval at the head of the competition. The weekend saw the first victory of the season for Racing Club Haitian in their 1:0 win over Zénith Athletic Club. The loss, Zenith AC's first of the season, still opens the doors for Cavaly which hopes for the first place. Baltimore SC still continues in search for their first win of the season as they remain at the bottom of the league standings.

    Don Bosco, "black eagles"

Don Bosco, without captain Richard Bruny, retook the head of the classification after a 2:0 win over ASC on the 6th day of the series last tuesday (September 26). ASC entered the match with the return of Jacques Mary Saint-Fleur and the arrival of recently injured Eliphène Cadet. The former player of the "beautiful air" could not make anything happen to prevent the disaster of his teammates who were dominated by the black eagles of Don Bosco which now have a better record away from home. The black eagles first goal came from a luminous master shot well taken by Jean Wood Kelly (21'). Aigle Noir, currently in 9th place await the return of forward Fritzson Jean Baptiste, who is currently with the Haitian national team in Jamaica for the CFU Digicel Cup. ASC's loss means that the Mirebalaisiens now find themselves in 11th place.

Hey Flash, what can you tell me about Johnny Exantus from a Haitian perspective? I think he'll be playing for the Red Bulls next year. Do you think he's the real deal? Will he stick it out to play with the Haitian NT?

Flyin Ryan .. Johnny Exantus has play for the Haitian NT U-17 Team in 2004 in CONCACA F Tournament in Jamaica ... He score 4 goal for NT in that tournament ....

Yes, Johnny Exantus is the real deal but due to the fact that he Play for NYRed Bulls U-20 squad ... He regress against great competition .... MLS rule held in back because if its was for Mo Johnson ... Johnny would have been in Red Bulls team early in the season ...

Yeah, Look for him next year and in the NT next year ..
