Not that this was unexpected but Haiti will play their WCQ against Jamaica in Miami. Sat, Jun 12, 2004 08:00 PM (Local) Jamaica National Team @ Haiti Mens National Team Orange Bowl, Miami, FL WORLD CUP QUALIFIER
Re: Haiti WCQ in Miami vs Jamaica And Dominica is hosting their game against Mexico in San Antonio, Texas. All of this was announced some time ago. http://fifaworldcup.yahoo.com/06/en/t/match/index.html?st=zone&zone=ncc&tm=all&ym=all
Hopefully they will play as well as they did in their last match in Miami (1-1 vs the USA :/) and be able to give Jamaica a run for their money.
Can't be that much, although Miami has a huge population of both Jamaicans and Haitians. Not sure of the exact numbers though. Anyone have Miami demographic info?
Definately the most interesting of the first round match-ups. ...and since we're throwing in random info about other teams... suprised to see that Canada is playing both matches against Belize in Canada...at least according to the FIFA site.
Belizean "Home" Match in KingstonOnt Where ya been Nico, both games have been set in Kingston, Ontario for several months? Too busy splitting hairs on the other threads? Yes second leg moved to same stadium the Wednesday after, because Belize apparently doesn't have a stadium suitable enough for FIFA approval. I'm sure that the Canadian Soccer Association also worked in a bit to aid with travel costs. 12,000 seater at Queen's University, biggest natural grass stadium left in Eastern Canada. It will be the first home match for the national team in four years. Don't ask.
Re: Belizean "Home" Match in KingstonOnt No, but now that game time is drawing near, I'm reading up more on everything. Nothing personal, but Canada v Belize hasn't exactly been consuming my attention.
