Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Reading 5/10 [R]

I know its only Thursday but I am excited about watching Hahnemann play.
Game on Saturday Live on FSW at 12:30 pm est.

here is a link to the preview of the games and teams
    http://soccernet.espn.go.com/feature?id=266441&cc=5901

    about Reading players:
"Team: Blend of youth and experience, featuring three former team-mates of Pardew who exceed the sum of their parts. Defensively excellent with perhaps the best keeper in the division - Marcus Hahnemann - while loan signings Glen Little and Luke Chadwick have added creativity on the wings. Finished fourth despite 17 league defeats. "

Reading manager Alan Pardew has decided to put his players through a strenuous training regime in advance of their play-off clash, even though he risks them getting injured
Pardew : "I respect all of the other teams in the play-offs, but I don't fear any of them."

Wolves boss Dave Jones knows there is more than Premiership prestige and a £25million revenue windfall at stake in the this season's Division One play-offs - because a second successive failure could cost him his job.

I plan on watching both Div. 1 playoff games today. Who should I root for in the other Sheffield/Forest game? Who does Reading have the best chance against if they advance? Would love to see another Yank keeper in the EPL!

Well, the other game has already been played--the first leg at least.

As not to spoil anyone with the result, Sheffield is the favorite coming in--they've had a great season both league and in the FA and Worthington Cups. Forest are young, and have attackers, including D1's leading scorer David Johnson.

Reading would probably have the better chance against Forest.

    Lol.
He is a sight isn't he?

He was on TV earlier today here, talking about the chances and all that.
Thing is, he's had his teeth fixed. He looks like he's breaking them in for a horse. And he's got a brace (retainer) so basically he sounds as backwards as he looks.
Who the hell decided "I know who we'll interview!"?

    Yes, aggregate counts.

    Failing that, the dreaded penalties.

Not if the announcers on BBC Five Live are to be believed.

I think it's just straight aggregate goals.

Hmmmm...haven't watched a lot of First Div matches ever. But, the quality seems pretty poor in this game. Maybe it's the nerves??? Is this normal 1st Div quality?

I would suggest, that, for these teams, no it's not normal.

And you'd be spot on with the nerves thing.
The first half of the other play-off game was attrocious too, just so you don't feel left out.

With around £15-20m riding on the next three games (potentially), nerves are in abundance.

    You think this is poor?

This is great stuff--hell, Reading, albeit just over a half a hour of play, look better than a third of the current Premiership.

They look so classy just stroking it around when they have the ball. All in the eye of the beholder, I guess.

Love the use of Henderson, an out-and-out striker, on the left to take runs at the ancient (but still decent) Irwin. Second half, watch Tyson or Salako (didn't catch the subs bench) take runs at Irwin.

True. Looks like the nerves have settled and the game has opened up since that first goals. Some good stuff out there.

Reading's defense perfecting the "bend but don't break" ethic. Marcus looks like he's filled out since his MLS days. He looks like the bastard love child of Freidel and Billy Corgan.
