Sidd Finch lives--I hear he went up to the Himalayas to master "the bend." :D

Arca puts Sunderland up 1-0 in the 28'th min with a shot from about 25 yards. Marcus isn't going to be happy as it came from the corner of the box and it beat him at the near post. He thought a cross was coming so he stepped forward when the ball was played.

Oster scores in the 32'nd minute to put Sunderland up 2-0

Cross comes in from the left side after good wing play from Sunderland. Ball is headed into the far corner with no chance for Marcus.

I didn't see the beginning of the match, but from what i have seen so far, Sunderland are deserving of their 2-0 lead.

    35'th min.

    Halftime 2-0.

Marcus hasn't done much but take the ball out of the back of the net.

Watching the highlites, he has done things...

He has been making a lot of mistakes. Bad communication with the defenders, coming out for a cross that he was no where near. I think it is putting the defenders a bit on edge.

The first goal was a good strike, but it was because Marcus was out of position.

Sunderland having the run of the match. just a matter of time before they score again. Marcus still hasn't settled down yet. Came out for another ball he couldn't get to, but luckily it was cleared.

Sunderland doing a great job of keeping the ball in their possession.

The team simply doesn't have the polish they did under Pardew. the take is that pardew sweats every detail, and we sound like a team that is making the little mistakes. Our possessions don't last long, our runs are a step late, crosses a little off...Okay, it's probably just a bad patch, but it won't help dillon get the job.

The Guardian faulted MH for the first goal, saying simply that it was a decent shot, but he shouldn't have been fooled by it.

Marcus has a moan about the preparation for the game in Reading's local paper here.
