ok, they are in argentina, and they are playing a scrimage vs. boca. check out the photo with the article.

metro spanish comm. director gives boca coach a metro jersey with his name on it.

so how long does it take the coach to realize that while his team is scrimaging the metros, the jersey he was given looks different from the one the team is wearing? well thats b/c they gave you last years shirt!!

yes, i know not very important but definitely stupid and funny- why would they give the guy an last years jersey??? makes no sense.

(compare to current shirt here http://www.metrostars.com/Merchant2/graphics/00000001/moreno_small.jpg )

its not from last year......Bianchi wasn't coach last June....it was Tabarez.....Bianchi was coach before him tho but he left seeking a new challenge but couldn't find a job so boca re-hired him for this season....Tabarez was let go....
I have Tabarez's autograph when they came to play DC and the team was walking around the mall wearing boca gear......

Not to be an apologist, but I would guess it's probably because they've gotten no more than a few new jerseys - just enough to outfit the players - yet. I had heard that the team wouldn't be getting their first full shipment of new jerseys in from Nike until mid-March. So maybe they just don't have enough shirts to go around.

That's just a guess and I could be wrong, but it's always good to blame Nike first.

    michael,

fine if thats the case but, why bother then to give the guy anything? giving another coach last years shirt, just doesn't seem like something a pro team does.

    U train-
sure, who gives an "f". is this a huge story, no, but i thought it was worth mentioning.

    Just wondering

Is there any possibility that picture is an old one - maybe taken last year when the MetroStars were wearing that shirt?

Seems to for it to be pretty quick for MLS to have that picture up before the MetroStars even are in Argentina.

This photo could have been taken when BOCA with Bianchi came to NY last year. However, Eduardo Motta is wearing a Metro polo shirt with our new logo.

That meant that the new logo was designed a long time ago without us knowing about it.

Jezuus! The Metros don't have their full complement of new Jerseys yet. Is that so freaking hard to understand?
