Clearly one of our few bright spots this season. Here's an interesting stat (assuming I did my math right), if you exclude PKs, Gyasi is second in league in goals scored (tied with Dom Dwyer and four behind Wright-Phillips). It may be a little early to tell, but a little more maturity, expereince, and better finishing and he could be on his way to the National team.
God bless Gyasi and the free oil changes but I want my buffalo wild wings back. 2013 may have sucked but with all those shutouts we got at home I was living large at b-dubs.
My best memories of the Rose Bowl involve the days Kevin would get a shut out - which earned everone a dozen Krispy Kremes.
Saw him for the first time tonight. He is an impressive player. Has more technical skill that I thought he did.
Compile these 10 goals along with the 2 from the US Open and 1 with the Galaxy II and he's having a great goal scoring season so far.
I have been watching him when I am able. I thought I would see a less rounded player. Figured he was more speed/flash than substance (I knew coming in he was on a goal scoring tear). I was incredible impressed with his technical skill minus the sitter he missed. He is truly an exciting player for the long term.
The thing about Gyasi is that he has improved so much since last year. He is a completely different player. The newfound confidence surely helps though. Hopefully it bodes well for the future. One thing that has stuck out to me is that when the team talks about Gyasi they constantly say that he works on finishing drills after practice. And lo and behold his finishing is 100 times better this year. (I'm not exactly sure if it's a 100 times better but considering last year when it seemed every one of his shots ended in the seats.) Is it really that simple? Did he not practice finishing before this year, at least at an extensive level? Can it really be the fact that he is practicing his shooting has caused for him to make the jump he has this year? Seems too simple...
I agree. Zardes is having one hell of a season. What will be interesting to see is whether he is just having a great run of form, or has moved his entire game up. I am inclined to believe its the later.
Gyazi now firmly in second place in terms of goals scored minus PKs. Here's the top 5: Player / Goals Bradley Wright-Phillips / 16 Gyasi Zardes / 14 Robbie Keane / 13 Dom Dwyer / 11 Obafemi Martins / 11
My favorite new chant this year, that I've only ever heard from my son and myself (but hey it's a start): "Oil change! Oil change! Oil change!" Repeat ad nauseum then hug and high five.
You're not alone! My friend and I do the same thing. Also, "We need an oil change!" Either or both, whatever works. LOL!
What the hell happened to Pollo Campero shut-out give-aways? The closest one to me is in San Berdoo, so I was always putting on my body armor and ballistic helmet and getting me some tasty chicken. Miss those days...
Zardes in Lamborghini http://www.mlssoccer.com/sideline/news/article/2015/08/08/la-galaxy-star-gyasi-zardes-gets-behind-wheel-lamborghini-what-cha-got-retur?
He was also the one Galaxy star who stayed long after the 400 fan limit and signed/took pictures with all comers at the Season Ticket Holder's event. He was standing three hours after the game ended, at 6:00, in the hot sun, after playing virtually the whole game. Good guy.
Saw Gyasi at Nordstrom in the Irvine Spectrum. Two little girls recognized him and asked for a picture.
Insanely cool story. Gyasi Zardes, the LA Galaxy and Chevrolet open new futsal courts in the striker’s hometown of Hawthorne
