I figured the league would review the Fire/TFC incident and correct the red card given to Guti by the incompetent ref. Apparently they don't review things in the MLS, whatever the ref does, they'll stick by him.

Okay you don't want to reverse the red card, cool, but the fine? Who cares that it's a miniscule amount, it's the principal.

Thanks for trying to keep things from escalating and getting bit in the process, Guti. Now pay us $250 and sit the next match out.

    Where's your source?

If this is the case, did Dichio get a fine and/or suspension?

We've already gone over this when addressing shalrie joseph. FIFA doesn't allow a red card to be overturned unless there's a mistaken identity.

Seriously. Apparently biting someone and breaking up a fight are an equal offense in the discipline commitee's eyes.

I figured it would shake out like this:

    Dick-e-o = 2-3 games, $1000
Guti = 1 game, $250 (they would back up the ref regardless)
Slim = 1 game, $250 (I'm shocked he got off with nothing, but good for us I guess)

I guess tring to bite somebody's hand does'nt warrant more of a suspension, what a joke. MLS just made them selfs look like a bunch of duchbags. He should have gotten atleast 3 more games for his bite act.

This is complete and utter bullshit.

Obviously they can't rescind the red card on Diego due to FIFA's bullshit rules but to treat Diego and Danny the same? It literally makes no sense from any standpoint of intelligent enforcement of rules or prevention of on-field violence. They didn't even do anything to Pickens and he probably deserved a fine. It's not like they don't have the game tapes, after all.

Since this isn't about the rules or preventing fights, this is the league making rewarding their ref by refusing to amend his work towards helping TFC get a result in thuier home opener, as unneeded as his help may have been given how totally crap we were. It's also indefensible crap like this that goes a fair way towards keeping MLS a minor bush league that gets no respect.
