Gus subs in for Freddy Adu in United's reserve game exhibition against Rochester.

    Kartes is a guest player.

One youth phenom for another. :D

You sure it was not Convey in for Adu.

Gus was playing indoor last I heard.

The rosters on these reserve matches are real interesting. More than a few young former YA types appear to have come back to the States in hopes of a contract with the league. I expect this to be a good bit more common if the league continues to expand.

The Bryce Wegerle watch is on...

I'm not making this up. It really happened.

Last week, I was in Maine and I took my son to play mini-golf. While we were there, I saw some teenager wearing a Brazil soccer jersey. No big deal, right? They're fairly common these days.

Well, the kid turns around and the name on the back of the jersey is "Older"! I nearly snapped my head off doing a double-take. I then walked around him a little to make sure I wasn't reading it wrong. It was the freakiest thing I've seen in a while.

Was it the Pirate's Cove at Bar Harbor?

I hit three holes in one in a row there once. Woulda thought I'd won a Green Jacket, the way I acted.
