the fish was asked once who he thought was the best player from Guatemala and he quickly said ,without hesitation, that "el Pando" Raimrez is the best player. He is a player you should really go after in the off-season. His playing style is of a little of fish and like Amado Guevara. An offensive midfielder and he would more that adequately replace Mauricio Cienfuegos.
He is currently playing with Jaguares de Chiapas en Mexico. His contract ends in December and it is unlikely he will sign with them again because he was sent down to their team in the primera Division "A", or second division. First division is just primera division, without the "A." But the guy is a talent. He once led the Guatemalan league in scoring with 18 goals, playing offensive mid. The fish has never scored that many goals in Guatemala. The Galaxy should really go after this guy...if you think Amado Guevara is good, this guy is much better. Ruiz wants him to sign with the Galaxy, ASAP! He said so in an interview in a Guatemalan website.
Not that I don't believe you Avi, but rojomania (or anyone else), can you confirm this assessment of Ramirez? It sounds too good to be true.
What kind of money was this guy making in Mexico? If he is as good as advertized, isn't it likely someone else in the Mexican League will make a play for him when he is out of contract and a free transfer?
I am not so sure how much money he is making in the Mexican League but who really knows if he will sign with another mexican team. He is really talented but for some reason he has had bad luck. Last season he was one of the better players on Chiapas. He controlled the game pretty well but then they changed coaches and the first thing the new coach did was send him down to the second division. I do not mean to offend everyone who is Mexican but many central americans have had really bad luck playing in Mexico. The coaches there would rather buy an Argetinian or a Brazilian because of where they're from and not really if they can play. Especially players from Guatemala, breaking on a team there is hard. If MLS is smart enough they should look into buying a couple of players from Guatemala or central america instead of some old people from Europe. I might be biased because I am Guatemalan myself but look what the Fish have done for you. Hey, but you guys quickly forget that el matador scored the goal for you guys a few years ago in the MLS cup. I remember that it was a nice finish.
