I think this is a great idea. However, maybe you could shorten the thread titles a bit and use a consistent format for each thread? Like "Mckennie PBP 20/21".
Just wanted to say I was hesitant regarding the changes, but have fully come around. Much better approach AND it gets folks away from PBP in the main threads. Thanks for all of this!
Yes, I like this system a lot. I am subscribed to the threads I am interested in and they appear in my subscribed threads feed. But I missed the Richards/Brooks thread yesterday because it was a separate thread. Not sure how to avoid that
Yep. It's definitely not a perfect system and while I'm happy to support the one-off thread solution to the "it's a pain in the neck to look at two threads when we have yank-on-yank action" problem, the fact remains that it's easy for folks who've adapted to the current setup to overlook those. Other than asking for the folks who start those to take a second and put a link in each YA's all matches thread and telling everyone else to keep their head on a swivel, I haven't been able to figure this one out.
I still like the idea of two separate threads, which after (say) three days you combine into one (now) unintelligible thread. But that's me. I think your idea of a link in the two main game-day threads whenever someone creates a one-off thread is the way to go, though it requires a bit of extra effort.
I think the one-off threads are done with good intentions. I should have been smart enough to check the game day section when I wasn’t seeing anything in the Richards and Brooks threads. Overall, the new system is working and I appreciate it. And it’s awesome we have so many Yanks to follow.
