yours truly. As sad as that is. It's for a small newspaper chain in the Dallas area. I've done some on the web on an amateur site and managed to stave off complete embarrassment. Don't know how it will work out, but ............it's watching movies, for free, before anybody else does. So it's worth it one way or another. This is still a little tentative, but it looks pretty likely.Wish me luck.
The funny thing is, Gringo, when I first came on here and started reading your film stuff, I suspected that YOU WERE WILONSKY. I 'preshate the well wishes, one and all.
Ha! I see some of his reviews in weeklies up here in SF and I always chuckle. Five years ago I was in a band that ended up being quite big among indie scenesters in D/FW for about six months or so. At that time, I didn't know Robert at all, but I hated him because of his cynical reviews (like mine would have been, probably). We were complete and total amateurs who only had anyone come to our shows because of our friends. Quite inexplicably, Robert Wilonsky loved us and actually took the time out to introduce himself after a show and tell us how great we were. I was absolutely baffled, but he was actually a super nice guy.
