Hey yall, guess what? I won the contest on mlsnet.com and I get to go to the MLS Cup game this year They just called and told me, I'm so excited, even though the earthquakes arent gonna be there, some of the guys might. I get to go to the awards ceremony to see the MVP and all the other awards, so I might see some of the quakes there getting their awards. I was so happy, I figured I'd come on here and share with yall. Is anyone going to the game even though the Quakes arent gonna be there? I just want to go see that stadium, loks pretty awesome on TV. Well thats it, I just wanted to share and see if anyone from here was going to the game. YAY
You dog! Congratulations. What a great trip. I hope the weather is decent and you get to see another LA loss.
i know, i hope its not too cold, being from Texas I cant handle the cold. Ive never flown before, which is scaring me too, but I think we are going to go up there early and catch a train into NYC to see Yankee Stadium. This is going to be the trip of a lifetime I also think it would be cool to see LA lose but I'd rather them lose in this round so I can make fun of them even more. I would like to see Dallas there, I can root for the home team.
Wow, that's awesome. Congratulations! I am going to be at MLS Cup this year. There are about 15 Club Quake people who are buying tickets in a group. Not sure how many of them are BigSoccer people, but I know Noah Elliott and ross from st paul will be there. Look for us wearing our Quakes shirts and come by and say hi! Oh yeah, last year in Columbus they had a big soccer-celebration type thing where players from teams who weren't playing in MLS Cup were at various booths. You could get your picture taken with Pablo Mastroeni and meet Tony Meola or whoever. So maybe they will have the same thing this year, and maybe there will be some Quakes in the various booths.
Last year at MLS Cup, we kept running into these two Galaxy fans -- starting at STL airport on the way out and through the day after. They had won a contest on mlsnet.com. Sounded like a good deal. They stayed at one of the MLS hotels (The Crowne Plaza), and got to go to the MLS Awards ceremony the night before the Cup. They seemed to have had a lot of fun.
I hope I see Wade get his defender of the year award, and all I know is that stupid fish better not be named MVP. I'll boo, ha ha j/k
yanks02, that's wonderful. Congratulations. Be sure you go over and hang out with Bill and the other Quakes fans, at least for a bit. Send us a picture.
Good for you! Won't be able to make the trip this year (in the past I would have made the trip regardless of who is in, but the cost of going for now would be out of my reach), but enjoy it and have fun. See the sights around Boston and enjoy the game. For the awards dinner, wear something nice. Think of it like the formal or prom. Everyone will be in tuxedos and it would be akin to the Oscars/Emmys what have you. A couple of guys last year (Matt Bernhardt and Andy Hazelton) looked strapping wearing tuxedos, while a few of us were partying down the street, and I joined them directly from the Columbus Blue Jackets/Colorado Avalanche hockey match. Just look out for the paparazzi if wearing a stylish dress!!!!!!!! Cheers!
If you-know-who wins comeback player of the year, do me a favor...stand up, yell "spitter" and sit back down.
yeah I'm so excited. I just talked to the lady in charge, and we are flying up there on Friday, taking a train to NYC and staying in the city overnight, then going back to Providence on Sat in time for all the events. I cant wait, I not only get to see the Championship game, but I get to go see Yankee StadiumI have already been looking around for dresses, I have found a couple of prom-like ones, and I cant wait to get all dressed up and formal. I'll probably be sitting in the very back but oh well, I'll make an entance at least. I'll make sure to try and stop by the Quakes area to see all of yall who are going, I might be lost though. And I definetly will be taking like 16 rolls of film, especially if I see any of our guys.
If you don't go to the formal/prom, at least you get one with the MLS players! I can't find the link to last year's photo gallery but it was fun seeing the staff dress up as if it was the Oscars. They got the garb as a bonus.
yeah my dad was trying to tell me to wear my old prom dress from like 3 years ago. I dont think that will work
Yeah, what's wrong with dads these days? Doesn't he realize that you need a new dress. Only the best for his baby.
